At Dwell, we are all so broken-hearted by the racism and injustice in our nation. So this week we're stepping away from our ordinary conversations about our verse to listen to our brothers, Kenny King & William Marshall. They are co-pastors working together as co-leaders, co-equals and friends in their beautiful gospel-centered diverse church. In this episode, they speak about Godly responses to racism for both white and black Christians. They talk about lament, listening, community, and how the good news of Jesus Christ must be both preached and practiced in regards to injustice.

It was just so good to sit under their wisdom, to listen to their perspectives, and to be challenged in our understanding of race and one another. Theirs is a message for all people, especially the people of God.

Last year Kenny & William joined their predominantly black and predominantly white churches to form one, unified diverse church. Doesn't that just make your heart sing!?!? It's such good news. In this Episode, Natalie interviews her sister, Rebecca Welsh. You heard it right, Natalie and Vera (Dwell's founders) have another sister, and she is a for-real, powerhouse! She founded The Halo Foundation, a non-profit that works to help one more child spend one less day alone. They serve kids who don't have a foundation of a family, from at risk and homeless youth in the U.S. to kids living in orphanages around the world.

Rebecca has always had a heart for the underdog. From the time she learned what the word orphan meant, God has been whispering to her to do the right thing and to take up their cause. Fifteen years ago, she answered that call and the wild ride has been 100% worth it! In this episode, she talks about the joys and the struggles of her work and what it looks like to respond to that persistent whisper.

Have you ever been sucker punched by the Spirit? Vera has. She was minding her own beeswax on a regular Sunday morning when a girl from her church stood up and asked if anyone knew the owner of the local night club. She had an immediate realization that she was that person. And, she absolutely knew that the Holy Spirit was calling her to action.

We don't all get that kind of gut punch when God is calling us to do something. In fact, many times the Spirit speaks to us in a whisper and calls us gradually along. Either way, WE ARE ALL CALLED TO ACTION. This month's verse tells us exactly that.

This month we’ve been considering doubt. What better time than a pandemic to be forced to face those things that send us down the path of unbelief? On this episode, Natalie and Vera get real with you and discuss their own repetitive doubts, such as:

“God, what in the are you doing in all of this?” and
“How can I live out my calling right now?”
