Today we begin a new journey together called Invested. Hebrews 12 paints a picture of discipleship that isn't casual—it's costly, purposeful, and transforming.

How do we really follow Jesus and grow in our faith? Not by staying passive, but by becoming passionate. Not just interested, but invested. The Father trains us with purpose, shaping us through discipline, hardship, and community so that we become more equipped, more alive in His will, and more fruitful for His Kingdom. Keep your eyes on Jesus (with expectation), and do what He tells you to do (in obedience) and trust Him to bring it to completion.

This Labor Day weekend, James shares a reminder that our work is not separate from our faith — it's central to it. From the beginning, God gave work as a gift. Genesis tells us that man was placed in the garden to work and take care of it and Paul reminds us in Romans 12 that offering our "everyday, ordinary life" — our going-to-work, eating, sleeping, and walking-around life — is true worship before God.

Work is more than productivity; it's creativity, discovery, and an opportunity to partner with God in renewing culture. Whether you're in education, hospitality, health or leading in your industry, your work matters. It is holy to the Lord.

As we celebrate Labor Day, this message invites us to see our workplace as our worship space, and to live with fresh faith that God's Spirit is poured out not only in church services, but in boardrooms and classrooms. Our Monday is as sacred as our Sunday, and God is writing His story through our everyday.

Today, we continue our journey through Hebrews 11. Together we’re not only learning the principles of faith, but also discovering the purpose behind it.

Faith doesn’t look the same for every person, and it doesn’t always look the same in every season. Yet true faith always takes what is in God’s heart and brings it into our present moment in history.

What does faith really look like in our everyday lives? In a world full of uncertainty, noise, and distraction, how do we, like those who came before us, live by faith and not by sight?

Every promise from Him is designed to reveal the favor that rests within. His promises propel us forward into our future and invite us into a process that is by faith. A promise is the sign that your past is being swallowed up by your future. The Lord of the new history is among us — you are not who you were; you are being changed.

A promise is your future inviting you into a life-changing process. Every promise comes with a process — and that process often attracts problems. But it is the process and the problems that forge in us the weight and glory of enduring faith.

James and others share powerful stories of God’s faithfulness — stories of God’s freedom breaking into lives, His faithfulness in every season, and how He’s moving across our community and beyond. Let these stories stir us to “consider how we may have encourage one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).
