Life in your thirties is vastly different for many people - are those people in different stages of life able to be friends or are they bound to drift apart as they collect friends in more similar situations to their own?
Life is generally on a consistent upward trajectory at this point in life, let me tell you why that's bad.
My thoughts on pickles, minimalism, going over seas and an ode to Squamish and small towns everywhere.
I also dive into the idea of Sober October and what that looks like to me in 2024 and how recently rolling my ankle has hopefully helped my realize some things about life.

I have moved - first episode from the new "studio"
In the midst of a self-induced period of no work I discuss my "wall of time" theory, how it grows and how hard it can be to get over, leading to a fear of change. How unrelaxing not working actually is, the responsibility I feel not just for myself but for others and how living with someone for the first time in my life is quite the adjustment.
I try to get to the bottom of who are we as a community or a society are responsible for, unfortunately with more questions than answers.
Oh yeah and my dog ran away for 43 days.

Essentially a live therapy session, as a lot of these episodes tend to be, I share recent loss that I've gone through and mull over I have what it takes to love properly. My fears of loss in life and how my childhood probably moulded me that way.
Love is fear for me.

I have tested positive for Covid-19. Not much else to do except record a podcast.
Having had to spend days cooped up, my thoughts have wandered on feelings of being trapped, being fearful, not feeling free and wondering if these are new feelings, or just feelings that I'm recognizing during this time
I discuss my relationship with "prayer" and how it is, at its simplest, a practice in manifestation.
I feel like a prisoner at times, and read out an excerpt from My Dinner with Andre to emphasize that point.
Are humans just one of the stages of the Artificial-Intelligence-butterfly's life?

After a long hiatus we are back! And we're talking about expectations - expectations in all aspects of life, mostly for the self, but also of everyone and everything else. Do expectations help push to be better, or is it ultimately setting you up for let-down?
"It's the chip on my shoulder that drives me. And its the lack of fulfillment that grows the chip. If I find the fulfillment, I lose the chip, and then I cant find the drive.

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. - Terry Pratchett. This quote has been providing me much needed solace from the idea that falling into a rut again means that I've made no progress.
A little high and with a case of the giggles I go on an adventure of my thoughts, a true Dylan With Life experience. I propose a way to get rid of nicotine and cigarettes from our society, go on a tangent about my hockey team, discuss 4k nature videos on youtube, and get lost in space
The Song of Now is Details in the Fabric - Jason Mraz.

The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy, but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes. - Aldous Huxley
The episode starts off with my thoughts on the American election and the country's democracy, or lack thereof.
Touch on my Sober October, and how November is going so far, which has not been great.
I discuss my problem with authority, my step-dad and the impact him leaving had on me. My mother and her pain, me not helping then or now and needing to grow up.

How long do I think I could go without conversing with another human? What is the longest I've gone at this point in my life. Would that lead to a mental break and if it did, how aware of a mental break or schizophrenic-type mental illness would I be?
We gotta talk about these youtube ads man. What's next?
At this stage of life I'm growing more and more worried that I won't find a happy path, that after a few years I sour on everything and need some type of change. Is that cycle going to continue?
Vote.

Quitting things cold turkey is more effective instead of easing as it doesn't allow for you to continue your bad habits.
