We get a little insight into what is going on in Ranga's head as it becomes more apparent that all is not well between her parents. We also get an introduction of the story from Rex's perspective.

The gossips have done their job and now Rindai is all they can talk about. While she takes it all in her stride, her daughter Ranga struggles with all the snide comments. Who has Rindai's back? Who can she turn to for support? Why is Rex not communicating?

Ranga's questions take Rindai back to earlier times. How did she end up here? We get a glimpse into a time before she met Rex. What steps should she take to address Rex's absence now?

We meet Rindai, a young mother of 3 precocious children. She is raising these children on her own while her husband works in Harare. The gossips have started to speculate as to why Rex has not been home to see his family in a while. The oldest child, Ranga is also starting to ask her mother difficult questions.
