The fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE officer was instantly transformed into two opposing political myths: villain or martyr. But the real danger may be how quickly we choose a story instead of demanding truth. In this video, I examine what is known, what remains uncertain, and how narrative thinking replaces critical thinking in moments of crisis. More importantly, we look beyond this single case to documented examples of U.S. citizens who were detained, assaulted, or disappeared without warrants under immigration enforcement. These are not isolated mistakes and they are not happening to foreigners. They are happening to Americans. The question is no longer just what happened to Renee Good, but whether our civil liberties still exist in practice, and what happens when it becomes your turn.
