Mychi  Grodstein learned at 29 years of age that she inherited the BRCA gene.  People who have the BRCA gene have a much higher risk of developing breast cancer or ovarian cancer compared with someone who doesn't have the mutation.  After losing her mother to cancer and watching her sister battle cancer, Mychi learned she had the gene and became very proactive.  She had all the necessary treatments to keep herself healthy and to allow herself from passing the gene to her children.  This is a brave and very informative discussion.  If you want to reach out to Mychi with questions, you can email her directly at [email protected]
