Eager To Know

Josh and I worked together at a digital agency in Boston. I was in Project management, which meant I was responsible for delivering what had been determined to be needed for our client. Josh, on the other hand, was responsible fo figuring out what needed to be done. What problem needed to solved?

I am happy to share my conversation with my former co- worker Josh Teixiera.

Sometimes, a significant  life event can cause a paradigm shift. In an instant, you see the world differently, you see your relationship to the rest of the world  differently. If your are  an artist, these types of events will change your creative output.

Where we grow up, and what we are exposed to growing up, can have big impact on on our view of the world as adults. With artists, these views usually shine thorough; sometimes brightly and sometimes subtly.

Johnny is an artist I came  across on Instagram. He lives in Berlin and creates 2 types of photographs.  His blue series, dark and serious, and his Polaroids, which are playful, and a bit pornographic in nature.

A while back I attended the One of Kind art show at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago This is a huge show, very spread out, with lots of artwork and artists. In all of this, I spotted one collection of artwork that stood out to me from all others.  I pleased to share my conversation with Chicago artist Morgan Sims.

Creating artwork can enable someone to express key parts of themselves, their personality, their past, or their values. So often when you are looking at artwork, you are seeing parts of the artist.
