The DPSA says that according to Section 77 of the South African Labour Relations act provides for an economic strike which covers workers across the economy and makes it possible for a shut, but the PSA strike does not fall under that section. Africa is joined by Professor Sampson Mamphweli, Director: Centre for Renewable Energy: at Stellenbosch University to reflect on some of the comments made by President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday at the Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit in Egypt.

The President said that South Africa is on track to retire some of its aging coal-fired power plants and that the emphasis should be on health, food and water security of the most vulnerable population.

The quest we're asking Professor Sampson is what will we be replacing the coal with and how far along are with making it a reality...
