That one sentence chilled a nation.

It was January 29th, 1979. Monday morning children gathered in the playground waiting for school to start. 20 gunshots blasted through the laughter and games. The shots killing 2 and injuring many others. From a crossed the street a 16-year-old girl watched through the scope of a rifle. This is not a story of mental health reform, not the story of justice. This is the story of silent abuse, neglect, failed system, rage. This is the sound of a trigger pulled without any warning. 

He name is Brenda Spencer.

Susan not only killed her children she then was living the good life while in prison.

After receiving her life sentence, Smith was booked into the Camille Griffin Graham Correctional Institution in Columbia. In August 2000, Susan told administrators at the prison she had sex four times on prison grounds with 50-year-old prison guard Houston Cagle. Cagle later pleaded guilty for these charges and served three months in prison. A year later Susan did it again and prison captain, Alfred Rowe, confessed to having sex with Smith and was sentenced to five years' probation.
