Once there was a caterpillar. he spent his days traversing the garden, eating until he was full and he couldn't move. He has one goal in life. To get big enough to become a butterfly. He and his friends always talk about it, yet none of them know exactly how it happens. Some say you go to sleep and wake up one. Others claim you have to go on a long journey and find a butterfly to transform into one. Yet at the end of the day, all they know is that they need to eat, a TON. The caterpillar had been eating as much as he could stomach, but he wasn't getting as big as he wanted. Part of him started to wonder if he would ever get big enough to become a butterfly. He had been eating for so long, and the garden leaves were losing their flavor. They weren't as good as they used to be. Eating felt like a chore. He knew he had to do it, but did he really have to eat so much? This continued on for a while. One day he got this strange urge to venture out of the garden. He didn't know why he felt this urge or if he could trust it. Yet, something in him was pulling him towards it. He crawled long past being able to see the garden anymore. He was lost but kept following this urge. Eventually, he found himself out on the branch of a tree. He was so tired he decided to take a rest. Just a second he thought. he climbed to the bottom of the branch to be safe from predators. A caterpillar has got to be careful. He fell asleep and dreamed he was flying over the garden, over flowers with pools of nectar in them. He saw the plants he used to climb up and eat. He thought to himself "This is the life!"
Society Yanks us into mediocrity, promising endless, hedonistic comfort with almost no effort required. Yet we live in a society with the highest rates of anxiety, depression, loneliness, illness, and obesity in history. This has happened relatively recently as well. I have seen an increase in it in my short 24-year life since I was a kid. When I was growing up, we were encouraged to work hard and told we had to work for what we got. If we didn't work, we shouldn't cry for what we didn't get. Yet today, people do 0 work and expect the world. If we get our name misspelled on our Starbucks coffee, it is okay to lash out at the barista because we are obviously the center of the universe and should be treated like the royalty we are in our world. The more work we put into life, the more joy and happiness we have the potential to feel.

In today's world, there are messages about how masculinity is toxic. Men should be docile, weak, dependent, idiotic, inherently bad and dangerous, shunned just for being a man, or should be more feminine. Then there is the flip side, where men are told to be the SIGMA MALE: Dominate, aggressive, and ruthless. There are few examples of what it means to be a man and masculine. Even fewer males have an adult male to model their life after as they grow up. According to the National Center for Fathering, 39% of all children in grades 1-12 in America today are growing up without their biological father in the home. 57.6% of Black children, 31.2% of Hispanic children, and 20.7% of White children grow up without a father present. 63% of teen suicide, 80% of all prison inmates, and 90% of all homeless and runaway children were raised in single-mother homes. We have a shortage of real men and an abundance of boys playing men in society today!
If you are a man or woman, listen to this episode as we dive deep into what it means to be a man and not be a man and how men can develop into mature, masculine men.

When was the last time you had a good conversation? When was the last time you left talking with someone, feeling refreshed, invigorated, heard, lighter, or at peace? So many of us spend so much time "Communicating" to other people, yet more people than ever feel alone, sad, left out, depressed, disconnected, out of touch, unheard, angry, forgotten, unimportant, and much more. How is this even possible? How can we be more connected than ever yet less connected than at any other point in history? While we communicate much more with people than ever, we do not communicate in the same way. In this week's episode, learn about how much communication is being left on the table not even accessed, how starting as young as 4 months of age, we start to develop this skill that, due to the pandemic, has been depressed in young children with unknown future consequences, and why face to face conversation conveys so much more meaning than any other form.

Some days you wake up, and everything seems to go against you; your brain tells you you aren't good enough. Telling you that you shouldn't even try, "It's just one of those days." just keeps rolling around. How do you keep going when everything around you, society, your family, and friends are telling you to take it easy, telling you that it's okay to not try hard, it's okay to be unhealthy, fat, and to never chase your dreams? How do you keep going during those days? Listen in and find out.
You wake up hoping for a great day, and it fails your expectations. You go home and say tomorrow will be better. The next morning you wake up and do the same thing. You don't get much done at work like you hoped, your workout was lackluster, and your friend who said they would call never did. On the third day, you wake up in a bad mood and expect a crappy day. Why would today be good when the last three have felt so bad?
However, if you were to look at your life from a third-person perspective, you would see no reason for anything to be making the person feel such a way. Each day was relatively normal. On the days expected to be great, nothing happened to make them bad. On the third day, their boss actually complimented them, and their coworker said they loved their outfit. While they didn't have a killer workout, they hit all their weights and times. Yet, mentally that was not the case... Mentally their emotions told them a very different story.
Our emotions take us out of the moment and distort reality from what it really is. Clouding our judgment and ability to see the world as it is. Often times this makes things seem better than they are, or, what we mainly remember, worse than what is really going on. Being present allows us to see our emotions and thoughts for what they are. Just thoughts and emotions. Not determining factors in reality unless we choose to make them so.

You're home on a Saturday and awakened by the most delicious aroma from the kitchen. It is one of those delicacy scents that you treat yourself to but don't take enough time most days to really savor properly. Smiling at the comforting warmth in your palms, you take your first sip, and the feeling of the beginning of a fresh start washes over you. It's going to be a good day!
How we start our day has a profound impact on how the rest of it goes, yet most have no intention at the beginning of their day, leaving it to chance. Listen, or watch today's episode and learn the three keys to the perfect morning routine.

Do you find yourself daydreaming about a better life, where you have less worry, a better job, a nicer car, a hotter significant other, a bigger impact? Most of us do this; however, that is where it usually ends. We never use those daydreams to propel us into a better future that we are truly excited about. I have a surprise for you. With a slight shift to those daydreams, we can actually use them to help us make them a reality. To the point where we can actually change how our genes are expressed. Listen in on the story of the young hunter who does just that to creat the life of his dreams.

Last week we talked about sex, drugs, and rock and roll and how one molecule rules all those worlds. This week we are talking about even crazier topics of creativity and madness, politics, yes, this same molecule can predict which political party you will affiliate with, progress, and finally, we are going to put a gorgeous bow in it talking about harmony in life. Most of us go through life feeling out of balance and that we have no real control over what's going on. Yet when we increase our knowledge of how or body and brain work, we find out we have a lot more control and influence over our lives than we thought. Tune in and listen up to hear how this one molecule and help you get a better grasp and control of your life.
Do you ever wonder why you have uncontrollable cravings and you HAVE to quench them? Or wonder how some business mogul can pull 12-hour days 7 days a week, for years on end? Or why at the beginning of a relationship things feel so great, and you find yourself daydreaming about the person. Only to be totally sick of them a few months later?
A single molecule drives these behaviors and thoughts with an insatiable thirst for more. It can never get enough and drives us to do some insane things to get that fix. One molecule in our brain has had the rep of being the pleasure molecule for quite some time. Yet that isn't exactly true. In fact, it could be the source of your despair if you don't learn how to handle it. Listen in and learn about the root of this molecule we are all familiar with but have very little understanding of.
