God can use – and has used – unlikely and unexpected people to fulfill His promises to save! Just like you "Catch Up" with friends and family, join me over the next 4 weeks of December as I "Catch Up" with all of our Equip Class Teachers! I am going to be asking them all of the questions, and diving a little deeper into what they are teaching about!

Our inclination in “making our lives count” is often to “make our names great.” With all your life goals before you, you need to decide whose name you want to make great. We're diving into Genesis 11:1-9 this Sunday to learn well from the Tower of Babel – and it will be great to see you again at East Bay.

Think of the many people all around the world: every culture, land, language, and nation. If we ignore all humanity’s origins with God, our thinking about people around the world gets distorted, and sometimes dangerous. But God’s perspective on the peoples of the world--starting in Genesis 10--will reshape our view of them and our role among them. We look forward to taking in this big picture of God's world with you this Sunday!

The story of God's re-creation with Noah continues … including a new "fall" in this new world! But when we spread the word about other people’s sin, we only sin the more! Instead of spreading the word on sin, let’s learn from Genesis 9:18-29 how to deal with sin itself. We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

If we thought the work was done when the battle against the devil and death and sin ended, and when what’s bad got judged and conquered … then we’ve stopped far short! God’s future salvation is as sure as His future judgment! As we walk through Genesis 8:1-19 together, get ready and get excited about what’s yet to come!

If we don’t think God is serious about judging sin, or the eternal conscious punishment of hell, we blow off and ignore God and His warnings. We may even adjust what we believe so the future isn’t so important anyways! But when we reach Genesis 7–still pretty early in the Bible–God doesn’t bluff about His coming judgment. We need to know that we will be saved from His judgment—by Him. It's a serious topic, an important one to prepare our ears to hear and our hearts to receive. When our world around us is desperately distant from God, people don’t understand the first thing about what the alternative, living for God, is meant to be. But in another era of spiritual darkness, in Genesis 6:9-22, we get our first long look at someone really following God--and it maps out for us what living for God looks like. Let's offer a new way of life to those around us, and let's live into it by the Spirit's power in us! See you this Sunday!

Which do we need to remember more: the reality of death? or the reality of hope? In Genesis 5, God establishes that we can’t avoid death--only to inspire hope that we might avoid it after all! We look forward to sharing God's good news and learning to walk with God together with you this Sunday.
