The 10th Annual Pink Ribbon Celebration will be held to celebrate survivors of breast cancer. Mark your calendar for October 30, 2018. It's at the Grande Event Center off Merchants Road from 6-9:00 p.m.. Dinner, live music, silent auction and much more! Survivors will be treated to a special reception with gift bags from Fountain City Jewelers. This event raises funds for the Compassion in Action Fund. This helps patients as they cope with cancer pay their bills, and other needs. The Voice's Chris Blue is the headliner and joins us in the studio about this special night. PinkRibbonCelebration.com

The shoe is on the other foot for the 3rd annual Hunks in Heels to benefit Iva’s Place, a program serving victims of domestic violence. Chris Evans-Longmire joins Michele Silva in the studio to explain how the event works.

Home and Garden Tour

 is an inaugural event for the organization. Scott and Hope Davis’ home, which is on 14 acres in West Knoxville,

has recently been upgraded with all latest trends in design; from furnishings

to fabrics, window treatments, wall coverings, kitchens, baths, lighting,

flooring, tile and decorative accessories. 

Alz. Tenn.’s Kay Watson and volunteer and homeowner Hope Davis join Michele in the studio. Together, they share stories of Alzheimer’s, how it impacted Hope's family and how this event will fund research for the disease. 

The designer home tour also has several

entertaining events planned during September 25-

October 14, 2018.

The passing of Stan Brock, the founder of Remote Area Medical, has saddened the community, and the world. He touched millions of lives in many ways. 

Brock started RAM thirty-three-year years ago. The free health clinics have helped more than 740,000 people across the globe by providing free, dental, vision, and medical care, 

Michele Silva last spoke to Stan Brock here in studio as the non-profit group was getting ready to head to Puerto Rico on a mission trip following Hurricane Maria. It's an interview that aired on our Sunday morning show, East Tennessee Now. It's a conversation that Michele cherishes and wanted to share. You will hear in his own words, about his passion for caring for the sick and those in need.

Did you know that women between the age of 16-34 are the biggest

The Taste of Turkey Creek is an event coming up September

7th to benefit the Pat Summit Foundation to help find a cure for Alzheimers.

This is the 7th annual. There will be dozens of restaurants participating. An

ice cream recipe from the legendary coach’s own recipe collection will be made

and shared as samples, explained by Darryl Whitehead, the GM for the Pinnacle

at Turkey Creek. Tickets are $25-75 at

Also – Bringing Beauty Back - we catch up with Mayor

Madeline Rogero to talk about the Magnolia Avenue Streetscape project to beautify

the East side of Magnolia and make it attractive again for businesses. There

will be landscaping, bike lanes, street trees, designated on-street parking,

LED pedestrian lights and more. Mayor

also tells us about hundreds of trees being planted across Knoxville and how

they benefit the city.

A Go-Fund-Me page set up for the family of the motorcycle

driver killed in a crash in Powell last weekend. Tony Jardine was 24 years old andgrew up in Knoxville. He was in the process of finishing a college

degree in engineering.

Remote Area Medical is coming back to Tennessee at the end of the month. They have clinics coming up in Jefferson County and Fentress County. But, they need volunteer dentists, eye doctors, and more.
