Howdy Bitch Talkers! We've got a fun conversation just in time for the release of the movie Easter Sunday starring comedian Jo Koy! Bay Area raised screenwriter Ken Cheng joined us on the podcast to talk about how Easter Sunday came together. It was one of those stories that could only happen in Hollywood but that was pushed by the need to have AAPI, particularly Filipino representation on the big screen.
Ken talks about why Daly City had to be the backdrop of this story, his Steven Spielberg moment, what the must have's were to make this movie, and what's up with Santo Nino's anyway? As an added bonus, we've got Producer Char chiming in on the conversation talking about her experience at the Sacramento screening of Easter Sunday with us.
Thanks to Ken for hopping on a Zoom with us and for answering our Instagram message! Had a blast talking with him and can't wait for our invite to the next Crab Club dinner!
