Echo Chamber

With 'Instagram' trying to alleviate fears of bias, by promising to change its news algorithm. You gotta ask yourself, why can't individuals select an algorithm that fits their wants!?!  BAFTA and others in the industry are looking into internal procedures, BUT, no one seems to be calling out the people who have been hiding the predators all these years!?!  Gov. Ron DeSantis' signs in a new bill, which bars transgender females from participating in women's sports throughout Florida. There's opposition, but no one is looking for middle ground!  With Naomi Osaka withdrawing from the 'French Open' the fallout of being both could have done better. What can the 'Women's Tennis Association' do moving forward to create a grand slam for all!?!  The 'NFL' @nfl are trying to hash out a deal with former players around concussion settlements and the race-norming they were using to workout what players got. How is the league going to move past this blatant discrimination practice!?!  A families set of handbag dogs mouth off to a moma brown bear and are saved when Hailey Morinico, a 17 year old races to their defence and pushes the bear off the garden wall!!! This week's #EFTV is a howl

PLUS, with 'Netflix' releasing the series adaptation of Mark Millar's & Frank Quitely's 'Jupiter's Legacy', it was time to see, will society stand with 'The Union of Justice' and can 'The Code' hold up!

AND, our Audible book of the week, was V.E. Schwab's 'The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue'. Is it forgettable or can the memory prevail Book

This week:

- Instagram to change algorithm, to alleviate fears of bias

- With BAFTA to look into procedures, what happens to execs who have been burying the allegations???

- Gov DeSantis bans trans women from women's sports in Florida

- Osaka, the French Open and Mental health

- NFL looking to remove race-norming from concussion settlement calculations!!!

- Teen saves dogs from a bear

'Wake Up In The Sky' (feat. Bruno Mars, Kodak Black) by Gucci Mane - 2018

What a start to the weekend we had, two top level events and both had great fights!

We started with the debut of 'Invicta FC' on 'AXS TV' and the great move to broadcast over their social media channels

Elise Pone and Fatima Kline both had great wins on the Prelims and started their pro careers with finishes.

Then Josee Storts and Claire Guthrie got solid well controlled decisions to open up the Main card.

BUT, the night was all about the titles! Up first were the Atomweights and what a fight we had between Jessica Delboni & current champ Alesha Zappitella. This was action packed and close as hell. It went to a split, with Zappitella ecking it out to retain the strap

AND, Karina Rodriguez or Daiana Torquato went at it for the Vacant Flyweight belt. Torquato clearly had the power, but Rodriguez output could not be denied. So she takes the belt home to Mexico, being the first champion from that country!!!

Friday wasn't done there, as the 'Legacy Fighting Alliance' had their '108' event.

The 'MMA Lab' had a great night, as Bryce Meredith had a successful debut, getting a first round finish. And his teammate Clayton Carpenter went 4-0 with an even quicker first round stoppage!

Kathryn Paprocki & Tiani Valle went to war, in their strawweight clash. It ended up being Paprocki's night as she grabbed a rear naked choke late in the third round.

The Main event saw Josh Fremd and Gregory Rodrigues jump into the furnace to see who'd survive and leave with the vacant Middleweight title

So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 192a) @ChinCheckPod

- Invicta on AXS TV: Rodriguez vs. Torquato

- LFA 108: Fremd vs. Rodrigues

'Lose My Mind' (Feat. Plies) by Jeezy - 2011

We know Saturday nights and 'UFC' go together and this weekend we had 'UFC on ESPN+ 46'.

On this card, four fighters REALLY stood out, because the performance they put out was great, but in themselves, they seemed completely rejuvenated. Court McGee and Ben Rothwell both looked like early versions of themselves, but better still. We saw the best version of Norma Dumont Viana we've seen in the Octagon. And you'd never have recognised this Jared Vanderaa from the one who debuted at 'UFC on ESPN+ 43'.

We had finishes on the card, as David Dvořák scored a first round rear naked choke, Bruno Silva landed an atomic right hand. And in the Co-main, Carla Esparza put on the type of dominant display, (resulting in a second round TKO) that was the perfect calling card for a title shot!

AND, in the Main Event, Rob Font pretty much had flawless coming out party. Even in the first round where he was taken down numerous times, he could never be held. His jab was a piston and now the division definitely knows dem Cartel boyz ain't messing aroundp‼️

And as Steve Jobs would say "and one last thing", cause we had 'Submission Underground 23' on Sunday.

Straight out the gate Aaron Tiegs let cats know what type of night this would be. Nicholas Maximov also demonstrated just what slick looked like. And if you didn't know the name Raquel Canuto well, hope you were paying attention.

We saw what happens when Richie Martinez ain't bout that smiley ish And anyone who didn't realise Carlos Condit had a ground game, they better take note!

Team TORO (Anthony Birchak & Deon Clash) challenged Team SAC (Cris Lencioni & Owen Papworth) for the SUG Tag Team World Championship in a fun arse match.

AND then, Mason Fowler & Kyle Chambers went at it. When the dust settled, Fowler is still head of the SUG household

So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 192b) @ChinCheckPod

'Go Crazy (Remix)' (feat. Jay-Z) by Jeezy - 2005

Well, Friday is here, so that means we are turning our gaze to what's been happening in the world of #MMA 🥊 🤼‍♀️ 🥋

14th August is the date when all six heavyweight titles will be on the line, as Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is set for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

The line-up for 'week 5' of season 4 of the PFL has been announced. It'll be headlined by Rory MacDonald vs Gleison Tibau.

We knew that Oscar De La Hoya was coming back to the ring on July 3rd. Now we know that Georges St-Pierre was being tapped to be that opponent.

Dana White has confirmed that the UFC Fight Nights would stay at the APEX for the rest of the year.

PLUS, we take a look at the 'UFC on ESPN+ 46: Font vs. Garbrandt' weigh-in's. One misses weight, but fight is still a go as we get a VERY late replacement in Juancamilo Ronderos.

- Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is a GO!

- The PFL have released the line-up for 'week 5'

- GSP confirms being tapped to face Oscar De La Hoya

- UFC Fight Nights to stay at the UFC APEX

- UFC on ESPN+ 46: Font vs. Garbrandt - weigh-in's

Today's (ep 191) @ChinCheckPod breaks it all down, so let's get with it!

'Rubber Band Man' by T.I. - 2002

There's another reason to be all bout Friday night and that's because 'Invicta FC' is BACK.

They have a new home at 'AXS TV' and are getting things kicked off with a DOUBLE title card.

To lead us into the four fight Main card, is an interesting fight between Fatima Kline & Ariana Melendez.

Then we end the night with TWO five round title fights!

First up Jessica Delboni will be trying to wrench the Atomweight belt away from current champ Alesha Zappitella.

AND, the Vacant Flyweight strap is on the line for either Karina Rodriguez or Daiana Torquato.

So, let's break it all down, in today's (ep 190) @ChinCheckPod

BUT, as an added bonus, Ariana Melendez was so damn kind to give up her time for a conversation. The wi-fi f'd up, so we do end on an abrupt note, but that's the chat game, kids.

Watch it here: https://youtu.be/2VoQDw7zx-s
