On the contrary, repay evil with blessing so you may inherit a blessing...To the God of heaven and earth be blessing, power, and glory to your name. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb of God worthy to be slain; all honor and dominion belong to you. The Lord is our shepherd. Grant us the desires of our heart according to your will. Refresh our souls, forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who trespass against us. Jehovah, may your presence heal our hearts from the pain of our past. Comfort us when we experience loss of family, friends, and resources. Give us wisdom, a discerning spirit, and a compassionate heart to help others along the way. May the Holy Spirit teach us your ways as we meditate on your word.  Then give us your peace in Jesus' name. "Why Do People Cheat" (Are you cheating on God)? There are 3 points I want to extract from this text that will help us see the answer. The first thing the writer reveals is that we are friends with the world (vs.4). Secondly, we bear the fruit of unrighteousness (vs.6), and thirdly, we are double-minded (pause) (vs.8). I will get back to that momentarily. Give me a few minutes to set the tone for verses 4-10. Here we find James still in rebuke mode, a continuation of verse one where he asked the question, what causes fights and quarrels among you? Psalm 69-King David describes his situation as one drowning in deep waters. It was a cry to be saved from his enemies. David was so distressed and overwhelmed by his misfortunes that his cry causes him to become dehydrated as his eyes were hoping to see...God’s peace is...God’s peace will ...in the times of trouble, and calm the storms of life. Follow Jesus no matter where you are in your walk with Him because there is rest for your soul and peace in this present darkness.
