Welcome to the power of prayer podcast. I am your host, Sherrie T., and this is the best day of your life because God is in control. Our affirmation is we are excited, blessed, grateful, and, most of all, we are Believers 4 Life. We hope these moments of prayer and bible reading will empower you to have faith in God’s word. Believe in John 3:16 and be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Inspire you to pray for your family, friends, and community...Let us bless the Lord at all times; His mercy endures forever. Let us bless the Lord our God, who has sanctified us by the blood of Jesus. Our Father which art in heaven, how great is your name. May your Kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven with a grateful heart; we give you honor, glory, and praise. Give us this day our daily bread; Forgives us of our sins as we forgive those who trespass against us, keep us in the shadow of your presence as we declare and decree You reign forever. Blessing and power to our King who sits on the throne and unto the lamb. May the meditation of our hearts and the words of our mouth be acceptable in your sight. We call on the name of Jesus to heal our broken hearts and open blind eyes. Teach us your ways as we study your word. May the Spirit of wisdom, revelation, counsel, and might guide us...Accept the one whose faith is weak without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt; the one who does not and does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand for the Lord can make them stand. One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their mind. Whoever regards one day as unique does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to... Many years ago, I decided to live a healthier lifestyle that included some dietary changes, which was a challenge for family members and myself to live out verses 7-9. Because at the end of the day, we all realized that the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, and anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Paul reminds us in verse 19-21 to consider our ways, Let take another look at those verses, “therefore, make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual...Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, and scholarship research. We call on the name of Jesus to heal our broken hearts and open blind eyes. Teach us your ways as we study your word. May the Spirit of wisdom, revelation, counsel, and might guide us into all truth and show us those things which shall come to pass. Today we put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-17) by standing for truth, seeking righteousness, walking in the gospel of peace, sharing our faith, believing in our salvation, and speaking the word of God to prevail...Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. God has verified the powers that exist. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. or rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? (Then) If you do what is right, then you will be commended. For the one in power is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect...Let me begin with a quote from Laila Akita, “Repentance leads to reformed behavior.” I believe this quote is relevant to our text as we seek to answer the question, “Do We Need to Change Our Behavior” Paul deals with three areas relevant to the way we live in 2021. Paul addresses government, the commandments, and our lifestyle...Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, and scholarship research. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil...Let me begin with a quote by Luke Scott, “I asked myself, 'What are you going to do with your life? Are you going to be like everyone else or are you going to do what's right?' I just made a decision. I said, 'It's time to grow up. It's time to start living for the Lord, do things the right way.' I accepted the Lord, and it changed my life. I believe this quote is relevant to our text as we seek to answer the question “Are We Living God’s Way” Paul gives us the blueprint to follow. First, he approaches the believers by appealing to our sense of duty and making us connect to him by saying I urge you brother and sisters then persuading us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice and disconnect...The Lord is our refuge and fortress, our God, in whom we trust. Indeed, he will save us from the fowler’s snare and the deadly plagues. We call on the name of Jesus to heal our broken hearts...Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved...Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. But I ask: Did they not hear? Of course, they did: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” Again...Your word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen. It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” Not only that but Rebekah’s children were conceived simultaneously by our father, Isaac. Yet, before the twins...Copyright Disclaimer: I do not have the copyright to the worship music played on this podcast. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope, we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our...Copyright Disclaimer: I do not have the copyright to the worship music played on this podcast. For example, by law, a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but she is released from the law that binds her to him if her husband dies. So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies...For in my inner being, I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature, a slave to the law of sin...Let us bless the God of our Salvation. Who rules heaven and earth. Bless the God of Creation; we are His masterpiece fearfully and wonderfully made. Bless the King of King; He has done great and marvelous things. Oh! Give thanks to our Lord maker of everything.
