Eclectic Soul episodes

  • Eclectic Soul 77 w/ Air, Little Dragon, Nils Frahm, Tokyo Tea Room and more

Probably the most chill episode I ever did.
Goes with nature’s invitation to slow down in the winter season.
Goes with me getting older and needing more calmness.
Goes with the need to balance the too much stimulation I lived so far.

I couldn’t end a year without releasing a single Eclectic Soul mix.
I wanted to take at least one audiography of my year.
I imagine my future self, very old, hardly moving any more, happy to spend a quiet day in my sanctuary,
listening to these mixes and remembering forgotten bits of the past.
Smiling while I relive beautiful memories in my mind.

    20. Eclectic Soul 76 w/ Men I Trust, Crumb, Harvey Sutherland, Lauryyn, Biig Piig and more

I couldn't help but play three songs from Men I Trust, after reconnecting with their discography.
I’m in need of sweetness, and that’s why I thought of MIT, and why there’s so much female energy in this mix.
I love it! It’s so healing to me, I hope it has the same effect to you.

The voices in between songs are from my dear friend Barnaby Carter (can’t wait to meet again),
and the beautiful poetic and spiritual film La double vie de Véronique,
one of the many great works written and directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski, with the mesmerising Irene Jacob.

I then realised that I watched that film with Barnaby and my girlfriend when he visited us in March this year.
I put together those audio bits without knowing their connection!
So happy to immortalise these sweet memories with all this beautiful music :)

      17. Eclectic Soul 75 w/ Ele A, Dirg Gerner, HNNY, Blockhead, Night Tapes and more

Finally! After a year hiatus, I'm back with a new set.

I've stopped composing and producing music in March.
I was fed up with my approach, which involved spending too much time in front of a screen.
I needed space for other things, but mostly, I needed space for nothing.
By that, I mean resting as much as my sensitive nervous system needs.

I took some of that space for tidying up the RSS file of this podcast.
In doing that, I added all the timestamped tracklists to the show notes of each episode.

I also created a website for Eclectic Soul.
It allows an easier way for sharing the show.
And a new way to make it discoverable (with web search).

The intro is the Music Of Wellness from the amazing Apple TV show Severance that I just watched and loved.
Please take those 3 minutes to do nothing but relax.
Lay down if you can, breath deeply and count your blessings.

In the beginning of this episode you’ll hear two bits of dialogues from the 1994 movie Before Sunrise written and direct by Richard Linklater.

Enjoy mostly new music released in the last two years.

I'm sorry I didn't publish any mix since 14 months! I've been focused on making my own music. Now that I'm getting more balanced and listening to new music again, it felt natural to share a new selection with you. I hope you like it.
