I thought this was an interesting book to feature as ecofiction because depending on your definition, this may or may not be on your radar. It is a book with a strong sense of place and appreciation for nature but there is no activism or commentary on climate change necessarily. We are finally at the point in our Spells and Specialists episode with Corri Moss Hunter where we can build out our magic system using Clark’s Magic system blueprint. I love these episodes, this is a great tool and it’s cool to see how flexible it is and how much you can learn about your magic system. In our case, our seed crystal was all about those functional behaviours Corri taught us about and how people are using magic automatically and instinctually which shows us their emotional state.
