(English) In traditional Indian philosophy, ahimsa, non-violence, includes three levels--the body, the mind and spirituality. In this video/audio, Supreme Master Ching Hai offers an in-depth, detailed explanation of each level, asserting that the worst form of violence is spiritual violence. Why is this so? If the perfect God nature encompasses every aspect of existence, including good and evil, why must spiritual practitioners only develop their positive power? What is “character adoration” and what impact does ...

( English) Excerpts from Supreme Master Ching Hai's lecture: I have told you to be successful in the world, but not at the cost of the spiritual progress. Understand? Because after we leave this world, we have nothing. We cannot bring anything with us. So if we cannot balance our life between spiritual and material gain, we have to quit one or another. So the choice is yours. Anytime we should choose the spiritual progress before the material gain, of course. But I could not force you to make one choice or ...

(Chinese) Why do people like to go to bright places? That’s because we love our inner Buddha Light, our own Light, which our soul longs for but cannot find; therefore, we grab something fake from outside in the belief that it will satisfy us. However, it gives us no satisfaction, and the more fake things we have, the more our longing grows. Our own Master likes the Truth and can find no satisfaction in the false stuff outside. Isn’t that so? Our soul knows what is true, so even children can practice ...

(Chinese) To live a happy life, we should look at every place as Buddha's place, everyone as a Buddha, and every situation as a blessing and arrangement of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The world is originally perfect and there's nothing to worry about. That's why Lao-tzu said, "There's nothing wrong with the world originally." Nothing needs to be changed except our mind and perceptions. No matter what we do, the purpose is always to know how perfect we are instead of our imperfectness. We will be greatly ...

(English) Excerpts from Supreme Master Ching Hai’s lecture: Everything I am teaching you here is just meant to satisfy your curiosity, your mind, and increase your diverse knowledge of different religions, and backgrounds. It has nothing to do with my teaching. Everything you hear has nothing to do with the teaching inside; and nothing to do with the job inside. Everything I say and answer, you can completely forget. Even if I can't speak at all and don't speak at all, if you are in my presence, you'll ...

(Chinese) No matter what religion or sect they are in, people who are truly searching for the Tao and practicing spiritually must get liberated from life and death and go beyond the Three Worlds. We have to know how to get liberation from the Three Worlds-this is the most important issue right now. We don't have to concern ourselves with trivial matters such as which religion is good or bad; all we need to know is the "Way", the "path". The "Tao" is forever there; it is not that we have to find or develop ...

(English, Aulacese(Vietnamese)) Excerpts from Supreme Master Ching Hai’s lecture: Kids, they are so innocent. They have no criticizing attitude, nothing like that in their minds. They just love beauty, whether inside or outside. They just enjoy whatever is pleasant to their eyes and their senses and their souls. They have no critical mind, and that is so wonderful. If all of us can be like that, half of the meditation process is already done. But we struggle because our minds have become so complicated. It's not our fault, ...

(Chinese) On this cheerful Sunday, Supreme Master Ching Hai encourages us to fulfill our daily duties and try our best to help others with her own experiences and inspiring Buddhist stories. Master says the secret for a successful endeavor is to do things without ego or any purpose, asking no rewards and surrendering to God’s will. Master also reminds parents to love their children more attentively, and develop their own inner cheerful, colorful spirit to bring vitality and happiness to this world, ...

(Chinese) If we do not use the creating power of the universe to realize our wishes, it will not be of much use, no matter what we pray for. The sound stream is the material and the creating power of the universe. We can use it to create both heaven and hell; therefore, we should be discreet and make use of this material to create good things, thus bringing peace to the world. There's nothing wrong in the saying "everything is created by the mind". However, without the material, we can only create fakes; ...

(Chinese) When Shakyamuni Buddha, Jesus Christ, Lao Tzu and Confucius lived in the world, even though many people did not like them and attacked them, they still talked about the Truth. Truth can never be diminished. The Truth they spoke of is still well-known today and has influenced many people. Truth is never alone. They told the truth and didn't tell lies. Therefore, there must be enlightened people in the world who can realize their Truth. The students who had realized the Truth spread their ...
