In the summer of 2022, 54.8% of survey respondents felt that revenue in the next sixth months will be higher than today. This percentage is lower than the sentiment on this metric in the spring of 2022 (63.5%) and may represent a changing current of optimism toward positive revenue expectations for the second half of 2022. Additionally, 38.4% of survey respondents felt that profits will be higher in six months than they are today. This is a marked decrease from the spring of 2022 when 44.2% of respondents estimated profits to be higher in six months.

According to a recent update from the Institute for the Study of War, the Kremlin likely ordered Russian “federal subjects” (regions) to form volunteer battalions to participate in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, instead of declaring partial or full mobilization in Russia. Volunteer battalions could generate around 34,000 new servicemen by the end of August if each federal subject produces at least one military unit of 400 men.
