When our God-ordained destiny is surrounded by walls and guarded by armies, we can either give up, rely on ourselves, or trust in the One who brings down walls with marching armies and blaring trumpets.

God instructed his people to gather 12 stones from the riverbed after they crossed the Jordan. Joshua set up the stones as a monument to God’s presence and provision among them. The next generation needs to see the monument and hear the message of God. How will we tell them? What will we tell them?

The people of God stood on the river’s edge looking into the Promised Land, and God instructed them to consecrate themselves. As we prepare to enter the unknown world in front of us, we should humbly engage in consecration and confession as we anticipate God leading us forward.

It is not uncommon for God to choose those who are common to accomplish His will. As the saying goes, “God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called.” Our painful pasts or present struggles don’t exclude us from God’s transformative work.

We often feel inadequate to accomplish the tasks in front of us. As Joshua led Israel to the brink of the land of promise, God reminded them (and us) that the mission in front of them was possible because God was with them. God’s presence empowers us to be strong and courageous.

To have no plan is to walk foolishly into an unknown future. To have a plan that does not seek the counsel of God and reflect the will of God is to walk into an unknown future alone. If you are missing a plan for your life, commit your steps to God and let Him walk with you into an unknown future.

In a world filled with conflict and controversy, we often find ourselves in need of peace. The One who overcomes the world wants us to live in the peace he provides. Peace often comes with proper perspective, and is not generated by our own effort, but gifted by God. Are you missing peace in your life?

The empty tomb of Jesus is not just a symbol of God’s power, it’s the gateway to God’s power in your life. If you feel powerless, helpless or hopeless, maybe it’s time to visit the empty tomb and embrace God’s power to do immeasurably more than all you can ask or imagine.

How you see the world directly impacts how you live in the world. If you want to live the life God created you to live, it begins with setting your mind on “things above” rather than “things below.”

It has been said that one of life's greatest tragedies is living without purpose. God created us for a purpose. But how you activate that purpose in your life can be a challenge. Are you missing out on your true purpose in life?
