Moses was tending sheep when his life was turned upside down. A mighty voice called out from a burning bush, and Moses found himself standing on holy ground. We learn from Moses' story that sometimes life's interruptions are really God's invitations to do something that really matters.

Sometimes our journey forward gets sidetracked by our sin and struggles. Israel encountered a major detour on its journey into the Promised Land. Maybe God takes us to the wilderness so we can see what we need to see.

How do you respond when your plans get turned upside down? In Luke 1, we see the plans of a young girl named Mary get interrupted by God. How she responded to the disruption is a wonderful example for us when our plans seem to collide with God's purpose.

When we surrender our lives to Christ, everything changes. God transforms us into a “new creation,” which means, among other things, we see ourselves, others and the world differently. Finding your way back to God means trading a worldly point of view for spiritual vision, and beginning the process of being made new by God.

We all have different strategies for life. Different rules. Different pursuits. Different end goals. But one thing is certain: everything comes with a cost. Choosing to live your life without Jesus has a distinct and difinitive cost.

Some people may have been hurt by the church, or a bad experience with Christians may have soured them on the church. We all need a biblical understanding of who the church is, and is not. The church is not perfect, and unfortunately, Christians don't always do and say the right things. But the church (the Bride of Christ) is still beautiful.

Our view of God impacts our response to God. If you have walked away from God, is it possible that it's not really God you have left?

Stand at the tomb of Jesus with Mary Magdalene. See her tears, hear her story. Once she encountered Jesus, her life was never the same. He changed her status, and he changed her story.

How do you measure spirituality? One of the best places to look is the "fruit" that is displayed in one's life. Galatians 5 reminds us the fruit of the Spirit is seen in the person who surrenders control of his or her life to the Spirit of God.
