As children of Light, we are called to boldly and joyfully let our lights shine in this world so others can get a glimpse of God and be drawn to Him.

God's desire for us is to daily walk in the light of the Lord.

No matter who you are, we all share a common destiny. Knowing we all will die someday should give us perspective on how to live.

Heaven will be illuminated by the glory of the Lord! There will be no more sin, no more sickness (no COVID-19), no more death, or darkness. We find our hope and identity, for now and for eternity, in being with God forever.

The path of wisdom takes a person to God to listen and find contentment in God rather than try to control Him.

(abbreviated message)

God sent Jesus into the world to provide a lasting light to pierce the darkness of sin and death in the world. We find peace in this eternal truth, and we also find purpose as a "witness to the Light."

(Commission Sunday)

From the beginning, God instilled a missional mindset in His people. Rather than simply being a force that turns inward, the people of God are called to exert influence outward--to be a light to the nations.

Jealousy, resentment and success are just some of the forces that fuel a lifetime of "chasing after the wind." When our motivations are unhealthy, our pursuits will likely not honor God. (Ecclesiastes 4)

After the Fall, light was soon overshadowed by darkness in the form evil, sin and death. Peace gave way to chaos. Even today, the world's brokenness is evidence of the Fall. But God will never allow darkness to overcome His light in the world.

We measure time differently than God does. We are reminded that in life "there is a time for everything." And while we are bound by the limits of time on earth, God has set eternity in our hearts.
