  • 203 Words For Warriors: Taking Our Language Back — with Sam Sorbo

You've probably seen her on TV, but Sam Sorbo is more than just an actress: she's also an author, talk show host, educator, wife and mother.  In this episode of the Educate For Life Show, Sam and I discuss the ideas behind her new book, Word For Warriors: Fight Back Against Crazy Socialists and the Toxic Liberal Left.

Radical leftists know that if you control the language, you control the conversation.  That is why they have been working to strategically redefine important terms like "racism" and "gender" in our culture.  Sam decided to write the playbook on how to decode this dishonest manipulation of our language, so that you won't be tricked into playing their rigged game.

  • 202 Protecting Our Kids From Indoctrination — with Gheorghe Rosca

Are you aware of what your child is being taught in school under the guise of "sex ed"?  Far from providing factual information about human sexuality, Comprehensive Sexuality Education is designed to indoctrinate students into "critical theory," promoting socialism, intersectionality, gender as a social construct, and other political agendas that have no basis in science.

Gheorghe Rosca is no stranger to the dangers of socialism: he was born in Communist Romania, where his father was imprisoned for being a Christian.  When he became aware of the agenda being pushed in schools, Gheorghe decided to get actively involved in order to protect his own daughter and other children from this influence.  Gheorghe is the founder of Protect Our Kids, a nonprofit organization that informs parents about what their kids are actually being taught behind closed classroom doors.

  • 200 Christian Teachers Have More Rights Than They Know – Eric Buehrer

Christians who work in public schools are terrified of speaking up about their beliefs.  They worry that if they say the wrong thing, it will cause backlash or even cost them their job, so many choose to say nothing at all.  But in reality, not only is it acceptable for Christians to talk about their faith at school, in some cases it is required by the curriculum! — provided that they follow the proper guidelines for HOW to discuss it.

This week I talked to Eric Buehrer of Gateways To Better Education, an organization that equips public school educators, leaders, parents and students to protect and promote religious and academic freedom regarding the Bible and Christianity.  We were also joined by my friend John Neill, a public school teacher who makes a point of living out his Christian faith on the job.  We discuss what to do and what not to do in terms of discussing religion in public schools.  You won't believe what is possible!  All we need is for Christians to become aware of their rights, so they can, as John puts it, "go the speed limit."

  • 199 Nuclear Chemistry Shows a Young Earth - Dr. Jay L. Wile

Do you know how old the earth is? Depending on your worldview, you may answer this question differently. According to radio-isotope dating, it is about 4.6 Billion years old. But, according to a Biblical worldview, the earth is much younger. So how does radioisotope dating work? Are there any flaws in the methodology? Does it conclusively prove the earth could not possibly be young?

Today on Educate For Life, Kevin is speaking with Dr. Jay Wile. Dr. Jay Wile holds an earned Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in nuclear chemistry. He has presented numerous lectures on the topics of Nuclear Chemistry, Christian Apologetics, Homeschooling, and Creation vs. Evolution. He has published lots of articles on these subjects in nationally recognized journals and has authored or co-authored 13 award-winning science textbooks. He is best known as the author of award-winning elementary, junior, and senior high school science courses including the Science through HisStory, “Discovering Design with…”, and “Exploring Creation with…” series.

Having studied nuclear chemistry in detail, Dr. Jay Wile knows many of the ins and outs of how radio-isotope dating. He has witnessed the process of testing samples and then choosing which data points to use from that sample. In other words, he has watched scientists eliminate certain possible ages of a sample simply because it doesn’t make sense to those scientists. To simplify it, scientists are picking the age range of a sample instead of considering all the available data.

  • 198 Should Churches Shutdown Again? - Pastor Jack Hibbs

California is back in the purple tier because of a rise in Corona Virus cases. That means many restrictions are back in place. Restaurants can only serve meals outside, businesses can only operate at 25% capacity and kids must continue remote learning. What about churches? Where does God fit into these restrictions?

Today on Educate For Life, Pastor Jack Hibbs is here to describe how the Church plays a vital role in these troubling times. Pastor Jack Hibbs is passionate about life! This passion comes out of his deep understanding that God, who came to earth in human skin, has through Jesus Christ provided the way, the truth, and the life. Our relationship with God, broken because of our sin, can be restored through Him. Jesus said He came to give us an "abundant" life. That's real life done God's way!

Our relationship with Christ and His instructions about the Christian life should impact every area of our being. That's right! God's Word -- the Bible -- speaks to the real life issues we all face. Depression. Joy. Suffering. Forgiveness. Peace. Fulfillment.

Tune in for a great show of hope!

With the election complete, there is much that is still uncertain. The winner is still unclear and the path to victory appears rocky. With all this uncertainty, where do we go from here? Are there things we should be prepared to face in the next four years? What should Christians expect to see? What should the priorities of Christians be?

Today on Educate For Life, Kevin has as his guest, Time Barton. Timothy Barton is the President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our religious, moral, and constitutional heritage. WallBuilders has been recognized from coast-to-coast for its work in education, history, law, and public policy, integrating the elements of Biblical faith and morality throughout all aspects of American life and culture.

  • 196 The Demise of the Quran - Dr. Jay Smith

The Quran and the Bible both claim to be the word of God. So how do they stack up against each other? Do they confirm each other or directly contradict each other? Can the criticisms that have been applied to the Bible, such as textual criticism, be equally applied to the Quran.

If anyone knows the answers to these questions, if it Kevin’s guest, Dr. Jay Smith. Jay Smith is a Christian evangelist, apologist and polemicist. Since 1983, he has been a full-time missionary with the Brethren in Christ Mission with a focus on apologetics and polemics among the Muslims of London.

So much of what we have been told concerning how Islam began is proving, through historical research, to be quite false. In this session, Jay introduces some of the newest and most exciting research which is undoing Islam's historical credibility. This lack of historical credibility is one of Islam's greatest weaknesses and, Jay believes, will prove to be the religion's 'Achilles Heel' .

  • 195 Stem Cells, Cloning, and Bioethics - Alan Shlemon

Bioethics is the application of ethics to the fields of medicine and healthcare. It affects different areas of scientific study when those scientific studies intersect with life. That’s where stem cell research, cloning and genetic modification come into play.

Today on Educate For Life, Kevin is joined by Alan Shlemon to delve into the topic of bioethics. Alan Shlemon has worked as an author and speaker for Stand to Reason since 2004. He trains Christians to share their convictions in a persuasive, yet gracious manner. Alan teaches about some of the most controversial issues of our time: abortion, evolution, homosexuality, bioethics, and Islam. He has been a guest on both radio and television, and has spoken to thousands of adults and students across the country at churches, conferences, and college campuses.

Stem cell research and cloning are cutting-edge issues, but ones that can be confusing to many Christians. Alan will help you understand the basic science behind these technologies and why scientists are keen on using them. Once you understand the procedures, it will become clear why some medical technologies are helpful and why some are hurtful. Plus, you’ll learn to persuasively share your convictions in a way that takes biblical and scientific principles on these issues seriously.
