Growing up in Gilroy, California, Dalila González Mejía knew she wanted to pursue higher education but didn't know how the process worked. After high school, she attended a community college and signed up for a transfer agreement program that would guarantee her a spot at UC San Diego. Once she arrived, she hit the ground running - getting involved with campus organizations, finding mentors, and participating in research projects.
