Sometimes a story or random event just falls into our laps.  It's as if the universe decided to put you or others in a particular place at a very specific time, where whatever you or these others actually witness or see with your own eyes, may indeed change your perspective for all of time...

Before Thursday, August 27th, I'd say around 10:30AM in the morning EST, I did NOT truthfully believe in Ghosts, Witches, Warlocks, Goblins, and some might even refer to what we saw that day as, A Ghoul.  However, all of those beliefs are now very real, lying deep within my tainted soul, and within my passenger's as well (who briefly froze solid on that day)...

Forces beyond our control, our wildest imaginations, at times show up or present what the demonic worshipers call, "An Evil Spirit, The Undead, or even - Mothman..."  Unfortunately for EEKshow and my good friend, all three of those myths became a reality last week.  Forewarned by a Vanity License Plate, reading from left to right: S P K Y R O R A - all three visually appeared in just one being or IT.

EEKshow - Episode 18:  Honey Nut EEKskins (& a Jingle to kick it off)

Cereal is a food for the Gods, although so many of the greatest ones are not at all good for us as humans.  Sugar Bowls, topped with Sugary Milk (and the fattier the better in my opinion).  A bowl of cereal with milk is literally one of the easiest, tastiest, any time, and fulfilling meals (where you also usually will have trouble eating just one bowl...  well, those who are not health nuts anyway).  There are also a ton of great healthier cereals that are still good for you, but just SO MANY MORE bad ones.  Sugar, with Sugary Candy pieces or marshmallows mixed in, with the the Sugary Coated - Sugar Flakes (sitting in Milk, that has Sugar, which then also retains all the Sugar you may not have already ingested while you eat because it's seeping into the liquid itself, which you then drink from the bowl like a Mongol).  Sometimes the Prize inside the BOX is even another Sugary treat.  I remember being young and wanting to get a box of Cocoa Rice Krispies just to be able to get the Sugar Daddy Caramel Lollipop that was inside at the bottom.  Of course this was after I mastered the Maze for Snap, Crackle, & Pop to find their way out of the Kitchen to the land of Candy (in one try mind you)  EEKshow style.

There are so many cereals, so many competitors these days, with several types all falling under major marketing brands as well...  EEKshow may even have a new cereal on the way, something truly unique, crunchy, non perishable, and a entirely self produced core ingredient...  "They're Not GREATTTT!!!"

EEKshow - Episode 17:  BUGS!

In short, BUGS are everywhere and they've been around since BC on into AD, to further include the times when T-Rex walked the planet (pre Big Bang, Pre and Post Ice Ages, etc...).  Think about that timeline.  They're in charge, and I for one think they know it.  Tell me something else in your life that you constantly kill or avoid and that never goes away, finds its way back to where you are (not always, but even once or twice is too much)...  BUGS...  They're nasty, most ALL types too.  I also know there will be people out there telling me or us that they're part of both the Ecosystem & Foodchain, don't complain, as without bugs, bee's, etc...  everything would fall apart.

Probably so, BUT I don't like BUGS, I don't like how much they affect being outside at night, or on the water, or in the backyard mowing the law, or pulling weeds, or walking on trails, or hiking through the woods.  I'm not a fan (although Winter works well to avoid nearly all of them)...  I MOSTLY don't like TICKS - 

One time years ago, I woke up to a Pinching Sensation right on the very top of my private area...  We had our first dog back then and he was amazing.  He also always slept in our bed with us (ticks were known, but never to the extent I learned about them that late evening).  I remember waking up, having to pee, but also feeling this pinching...  after which I reached down to check out what it could be.  Unfortunately for me, it was not anything I could have expected (a Deer Tick, the Red Back ones, the scary/extra gross and Lyme Diseases carrying ones)...  I felt it but had no idea until I went into the bathroom and looked closely down at the area...  This motherfucker was attached and creating a slight pinching sunflower seed like abrasion right on the head of my shaft...  100% Truth!  Lets just say I got up, pried it off with a pair of tweezers, EXTREME PAIN for that area for weeks, tender as all hell then and even still now (nearly 20 years later).  Went to the doctor the first thing that next morning, got the Lyme test and also the Doxycycline antibiotic ahead of time, just in case.  All turned out ok, but truly HORRIFYING.  I proceeded to take that tick that I pulled off my private and taped it to an Index Card with a Clear Piece of Tape (you were supposed to do that for the doctor or if you showed a bullseye rash or symptoms of Lyme days/weeks later, it helped them identify the potential tick born disease). For me, it was for a different reason... I labeled it, gift wrapped it, after which I gave it to a friend of mine for Secret Santa at my brother's annual Christmas Party.  Funniest Gift of all time (not only for him, but for me too).  Classic to stay the least, something awful into a joke, sounds familiar?  I just hope he still has it   ;)

Episode 16:  Blueish Black Slacks   (with a memorable jingle to start)

For years my father wore the same pair of Blue slacks that became as dirty as I'd imagine the bottom of people's shoes are.  Never saw him wash them, never saw him do any laundry, or really clean anything at all (including himself).  Maybe a few pans after making his delicious gravies (Beef, Turkey, Chicken... you name it)...  Guy was a Gravy King.  It reminded me of being young and times where he could actually depend on me because he was quite frankly so not dependable in reverse.  He made excuses, gave reasons, some at times were truthful, but still not good enough to use for his kids...  Classic is all I can say.  The Slacks, with regard to how lazy, uncomitted he would even be to wash, dry or even just not wear to allow to be cleaned by someone else taught me a valuable lesson.  You can't always depend on people to do things for you if they don't even do them for themselves.  So be dependable for others, and if you ever find folks that you can depend on in return...  hold on to them with all your heart. 

I hope you have someone that you can depend on and or that you have people that can depend on you.  Family or not, doesn't matter, maybe you're lucky enough to have both and for both sides (Them depending on you, and you depending on them).  All I wish for you is to be dependable and to be around others that are dependable in return... minimally in your own home or dwelling.  Some might even say they found someone they can depend on at work...but cmon MAN!!! (in the Stephen A Smith Voice) that's ridiculous  - no shot...  Enjoy that household song name, the new band name, and an unwashed pair of my father's pants that will now last forever after today's audio...  BLUEISH BLACK SLACKS!!!!!!

EEKshow - Episode 15:  Craziest

Over time there are crazy things you may have done as a kid, a person, or even as a friend of someone else who may have actually carried out some sort of crazy act with you there (or maybe even partially involved).  Ideally and hopefully it's never been something deeply negative, violent, scary, or causing anyone any genuine pain or anguish.  However, at times we do all act or do things that are a little crazy, (oh we're never gonna survive, unless, we get a little...  Crazy!!)...  Seal knew it all those years ago, and EEKshow knows it too... 

There was an unexpected and real life emergency going on as I recorded this simple idea, which added to the events of the episode.  I don't think anything I've done and or will do is truly all that Crazy, but it's also not totally uncrazy either.  These memories make me laugh and I'm curious if you have ones that might also be crazy, funny, and or even beyond that (provided you're willing to share, and also that it's nothing truly bad or negative in you thinking about, and or discussing it...).  What's the craziest thing you've ever done, or how would you even define what's crazy?  We're all so different, with different levels of what we may actually do, feel, or be a part of that's crazy.  I am most curious about what each of you has actually done that you feel is truly the most crazy...  Think it through, share if you want to, and enjoy another random weekly tale that is your guilty and unsure podcast pleasure...  EEKshow!!!

EEKshow - Episode 14:  Air Travel  (with Song, inspired by LOST)

Traveling specifically at the airport, anywhere in the US and or World is a trip (and most mean the 2nd definition of that word)...  I guess it's both definitions.  Expensive, Chaotic, Hectic, Tiresome, Typically Long, Burdensome, Tight, Confining, Limiting, Stinky, Claustrophobic, Scary, Untimely, and then also Exciting, Fun, New, Thrilling, Antcipatory, Timely, and even during certain situations - Efficient.

Air Travel is able to combine so many different sections of humorous living all within one section of time while you're technically doing the same thing (Going from one place to another for work, vacation, a visit, obligations, a honeymoon, a destination sporting event, a funeral, etc...).  It's the ride to the airport, parking, the airport itself, food, expenses, checking bags, bathrooms in the airport, security, boarding, the flight, bathrooms on the flight, eating or not at the airport or on the flight, drinking or not and what at the airport or on the flight, deboarding, landing, not landing, etc...   RIP to all those lost on Pan Am Flight 103 back in December of 1988...

As July starts to wind down in 2026, there are a lot of different, impactful, and difficult things going on in our world right now...  The Canadian Wildfires, Multiple Wars, Gas Prices hitting highs here in the NorthEast that I only remember seeing out in CA (where the gas had hit over 4$ back then as well), AND FINALLY - a microscopic, foodborne, parasite rapidly infecting human, intestinal tracks ALL  over the United States!  Bouts of "Explosive" Diarrhea lasting for weeks was never a newsworthy headline I expected to see detailed all over every last media based internet website, appl, or blog... 

Just your standard Friday relaxation podcast episode to get through, brough to you by the EEKshow (which you have ideally come to know and love)...  Have fun!

EEKshow Episode 13:    AZZIP

In the simplest form of food (Pizza) is indeed at the highest point across all regions of the Solar System, at least I hope.  I think there are very few people if any, that I've ever met, known, talked to, gotten to know, broken bread with, and or had within my inner circle/family that don't love Pizza.  Not even like, LOVE.  

It's the World's perfect food in my opinion...  Shareable, multiple ingredients, so many different ways to make it, present it, cook it, and eat it.  How do you like it, why do you like it, where from (and do you have multiple places for multiple moods or locations), OR do you not like it?  How is that possible?  Pizza works, it cuts through, clarifies, and captures...  in all its forms, the essence of TASTE.  So many choices, so many ways to create from the dough on through the sauce, cheese, style of cut, thickness, toppings, and temperature/time, the aftermath.

BONUS EEKSHOW Episode (with Song):    Where Were You When? 

There are times in all of our lives where we remember the exact day, year, where we may have been, whom we were with, etc... due to the very particular circumstances or events of that very specific moment.  The magnitude, either positive or negative, and or at times just the scale of that moment, and or how unique it happened to be, sticks with us.   Our minds are able to pinpoint those type of memories in our brains, they become Engrained, which we all are able to forever tap into long after (and that is, if we choose to).  Things like Elvis Presley dying, our first kiss, when a president may have died or been killed, and or the mother of all Where Were You When...  September 11th, 2001.  God Bless all those who lost their lives that day, and thanks to all those who helped bring all the rest to safety or justice from that same day and all those years later (through this very day...).  

I of course chose to humorize, Where I Was When...  but what else would you expect from the EEKshow.  Have fun and enjoy this Bonus Episode!
