John the Baptist was near the end of his ministry. Jesus and his disciples were baptizing in Judea and John was baptizing in Aenon. John said I must decrease and he must increase. The mathematics of serving is that we decrease and the Lord increases. We are not supposed to be anything and the Lord us supposed to be everything in our servant ministry. John would soon go to prison and Jesus would be the focal point all the way to the cross where he would die for yous sin and mine, that he may fulfill the Fathers will.

Job's complaint to Eliphaz. We sometimes need to go through trials that we may be better for it. His grief and his calamity he says are heavier than the sands of the sea. We ponder his case realizing that suffering is a part of life and trials and that Jobs tells Eliphaz that he has a right to complain. Job 6-1 But Job answered and said, Job 6-2 Oh that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together-

Christ is the light that has come into the world. People either accept or reject that light. Christ is the true light and life and shows us the way to eternal life. Darkness is a type of sin and light is the type of truth and of Christ. Darkness does not want to come to the light lest their evil deeds will be shown to be in sin and darkness therefore hates the light of Christ.

John 3-16 is the Heart Beat of the Gospel.

Nicodemus meets with Jesus and interviews Him that did signs and wonders and wanted to know more about Jesus.

Psalm 69-9 The prophecy of the zeal of the Lord and Jesus entered into the city of Jerusalem and cleansed the Temple and fulfilled this prophecy. Then he threw out those who sold animals for sacrifice and gave a new sign and prophecy.

Jesus and his disciples were invited to a wedding in Cana of Galilee. This miracle is the first recorded of the Lord miracles and the circumstances show the glory of the Lord and that his disciple would believe upon the Lord.

Jesus calls his disciples, but as much we believe in election and predestination John did not say anything about election. We see Jesus calling his disciples through natural means as he encounters these men. This reminds us that God uses natural and spiritual means to call people to be followers of Jesus.

John the Baptist preached his message to Israel saying repent and be baptized. All this was to be done to prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah and in anticipation of the Christ.
