We dive head first into CMFKC/Crossroads Music Fest! The 18th annual fest is on Saturday, Aug. 27, hosting 25+ bands on six stages in The West Bottoms. Hear music from several acts on the lineup: OLIVIA FOX, Cassie Taylor, The Kansas City Bear Fighters, Arquesta Del SolSoul, Ezmerelda, The Black Creatures, IVORY BLUE, Malek Azrael, and Noah Davis.

Hear new stuff from Jake Wells, Gemini Parks (new project from Berwanger), Lone Stranger (new project from Zach Phillips of The Architects), Mark McGonigle, Pompous Jack, Katy Guillen & The Drive, Elevator Division, Little Little (new project from Drew Little), Julia Reynolds & Michael Johnson, good guise, and JNabe.

Our inbox is FULL and we’re excited to share a bunch of new music with you, THIS week and NEXT week too.

We hear brand new music from Arquesta Del SolSoul, who are part of the 18th annual KKFI Crossroads Music Fest happening on August 27.

We hear a recent release from Savanna Chestnut and The Field Hands, who are part of the upcoming Camp Leavenworth festival happening on September 23 and 24 in downtown Leavenworth.

Also, music from three acts that just launched new music videos: FlareThaRebel, PmBata, and LoopStation featuring Julia Reynolds.

Then, we round things out with new releases from Caley Rose, Kasey Rausch, Bolinas, Felix Child, and Synthlad.
 

…and the show must go on! The inaugural Innovation Festival is next Saturday, August 6 at Crown Center. The fest features 12 bands, on two stages, a silent disco with three DJs and it is now a FREE event!

After canceling festival appearances all over the world (US/Canada/Japan), Black Pumas also canceled their KC date. Hometown music heroes, The Greeting Committee are stepping up and headlining the show. The Regrettes will be direct support and the lineup is filled with seven other great acts: argonaut&wasp, Dreamgirl, The Freedom Affair, MellowPhobia, The Cavves, Whitehall, and Caroline Blu.

Tickets are still available for the Brewery Showcase, they’re $25 and you get to sample six seven-ounce pours from a bunch of breweries from the region and also be treated to music on a second stage featuring The Roseline, Miki P, and Jake Reese.

Then into the evening, a silent disco opens up to everyone from 7-10PM with DJ NE$$, DJ Joe, and Dj MoHeat spinning for you on three channels into your headphones.

This time on the show, musician Miki P. joins Chris for a special sustainer appreciation night at the beer hall.

We’ll also hear a brand new single from MellowPhobia, on August 6 they’ll be part of the inaugural Innovation Festival, along with Black Pumas, The Greeting Committee, and more, all happening at Crown Center.

For Tunesdays we broadcast live from The Beer Hall at Boulevard Brewing Company and are joined by two special guests, Kat King and PURE XTC.

We play music from both of their catalogs, learn some of their backstory as musicians, hear about their Boulevardia experience, and also do a “7 Questions” segment and ask them the same questions we’ve asked over 200 other musicians on the show.
