Segment 2: American Legion-Auxiliary- Unit 58
Enjoy some delicious BBQ while supporting veterans! Amber Banda talks with Robert Thomas, American Legion Post 58 1st Vice Commander and his wife, Armida Thomas, President of Auxiliary Unit 58.

Unit 58, located at 4724 Vulcan Ave in Northeast El Paso, is having their 2nd Annual Supporting Veterans BBQ Cookoff on Saturday, September 13th from 9am-6pm.

There will be vendors, raffles, food trucks, beer, and cash prizes for competitors. Over 20 meat professionals will be competing to win the State Championship at this event, which also includes a veteran only cookoff. Funds raised will go to Unit 58 to support veterans. Segment 1: FREEZE! The El Paso FBI is back in the station to talk about their FBI recruiting event September 5th at UTEP. They will have real agents and various FBI employees all in one place to give you answers from people actually doing it and in it! They will have SWAT demonstrations and computers available for on the spot sign-up. The FBI is SO much more than kicking down doors and flashing the badge, (which is pretty cool though). Segment 2: Get out your midieval garb and weapons, it's time for a food fight! Amptgard "Kingdom of the Burning Lands" is this area's Live Action Role Playing organization, (LARPing). For the whole month of September they are challenging other kingdoms to a food fight and need your help to battle food insecurity. They are accepting in kind and monetary donations to be able to give back to our community's food banks. Segment 3: You've heard of a 5k and 1 mile fun walk, but arre you ready for an 8k?! Rudolph Helping Hands is the Rudolph Auto Group's non-profit that gives back to the community in many ways. They are back for their 2nd annual "Changing Lives in the 915" 5k, 8k, and 1 mile fun walk. Following the massive success of their first run with over 450 participants, Rudolph Helping Hands hopes to get bigger and better this year! There will be live music from the Roulettes, raffles, prizes for participants in various age groups, FREE alcohol, and new this year they are offering the VIP experience with private tented area,  mimosas, a breakfast bar, comfortable seating, VIP parking and more.

This includes therapy, foster and adoption services, life and skills development, tutoring, recreation activties, unplanned pregnancy counseling, and preparation for adult living.

Whether you or have 2,3 or 4 wheels, you can be a part of this great event and raise funds for your local El Paso Children's Hospital through the Children's Mirace Network. Last year they raised around $20,000 dollars and hope to donate more this year.

Amber Banda interviews Alexa Velazquez, Director of Children's Miracle Network in EP, as well as Sammy and Andy Flores, both members of the El Paso Border Run committee and Poderoso Car Club, (celebrating 30 years in the Sun City)!

Sammy and Andy talk about their involvment with the club and motorcycles, and their personal story with their son and the connection to the El Paso Children's Hospital. Alexa talks about where these donated funds go and how this event has helped the kids in the hospital.

The 2025 El Paso Border Run will be Sept 20th. All bikes and vehicles can register at Barnett Harley-Davidson that day at 8am, KSU (kick stands up, or leave), at 10:30am. This bike run will have a few stops including the final stop where there will be food, music, raffles, prizes and more.
