    Have you ever seen cars on the side of the road marked with an "H" in a circle? Those cars have been marked by the TX DOT HERO Program, a FREE roadside assistance program.
    .
    Amber Banda interviews Lauren Macias-Cervantes, TX DOT Public Information Officer, and Martin Morales, HERO Program Manager and former law enforcement. They talk about what type of roadside assistance is offered FREE of charge to stranded drivers, including help changing your tires, putting air in tires, drinking water, battery charges, and help towing your vehicle to the nearest safe place or help with moving drivers off of dangerous areas.
    .
    The TX DOT HERO Program also helps law enforcement with clearing incidents on major highways and severe weather responses. Remember, when you see an accident or someone on the shoulder, MOVE OVER OR SLOW DOWN, it's the law.
    .
    If you need roadside assistance, or see someone who needs it, be a good neighbor and call 915-790-HERO (4376), or call the number on the back of your driver's license. Parents, have your teenager save this number in their phone!

Amber Banda interviews Manny "Big Monkey" Acosta, Sargeant at Arms, and Terry "Luna," Lady of Diligentz auxiliary member. Learn about their mission and how they are intergrated not only in the biker community with the El Paso Motorcycle Coalition but community organizations as well.

    Amber Banda interviews Jill Brewster, Development Manager for the Young Women's Preparatory Network (YWPN) in El Paso, TX!

    The YWPN is a statewide non-profit that supports 12 schools, including 2 here in El Paso; The Young Women's Leadership Academy in the Ysleta School District, and the Young Women's STEAM Academy in the El Paso Independent School District.

    Both schools are FREE college prepatory public schools for young ladies age 6-12. Students enjoy one-of-a-kind experiences with focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics and you do not have to be in the YISD or EPISD to attend!

    Segment 2: Learn about the Paso Del Norte Trail!

    Amber Banda interviews Jana Renner, Senior Program Officer for the Paso Del Norte Health Foundation. Listen to learn about this 70 mile county-wide multi-use trail! Learn what the community wants most out of this trail, where current parts of the trail are located, and what the future holds for this PDN "hike and bike."

    The Texas Transportation Commission just approved more than $31 million in Transportation Alternatives which will help fund 2 major segment of the trail, giving more access major destinations in El Paso including the El Paso Zoo, Magoffin Home, Fox Plaza, and more.
    .
    In addition to giving more pedestrian accessibility, Jana and Amber also talk about the benefits of this unified, multi-use trail across EP County including walking outdoors, creating more events, and you also get some behind the scenes as to how this trail all comes together.

  • EPPF 12-7-25 Wreaths Across America and El Paso Pro Musica with Felipa Solis
    Segment 1: Wreaths Across America, not just a Christmas Wreath!

    Hosted by the Civil Air Patrol, El Paso Composite Squadron, Wreaths Across America is back! A time honored tradition of purchasing wreaths that will be placed by loved ones or volunteers on headstones at Ft. Bliss Cemetery, and you can be a part of it.
    .
    Amber Banda interviews Bonnie Torres, Location Coordinator for Wreaths Across American at Ft. Bliss. They discuss how it began, what this tradition means and who it is meant for, and you will get detailed information about event day. Become a part of the tradition of honoring our military and their families at the Ft. Bliss Cemetery!
    .
    10am will be opening Ceremonies, followed by placement of the wreaths.Trucks with wreaths, with a motorcycle escort, will arrive at Ft. Bliss cemetery around 7:30am. Wreaths can be purchaed on location for $17, (cash preferred), but with limited quantities.You are welcome to watch or volunteer. Volunteers will help unload the trucks and place wreaths on the headstones.

    Segment 2: El Paso Pro Musica with Felipa Solis

    Amber Banda has Felipa Solis back in the station to walk about El Paso Pro Musica's upcoming events! In December, EPPM will have Mark O'Conner's "An Appalachian Christmas" ft his wife, Maggie O'Conner. This event will be Dec 15th at 7:30pm in the Recital Hall at the UTEP Fox Fine Arts Center.

    They also discuss EPPM's Chamber Music Festival which continues into January, with even more world-renowned and award winning artists! Vairous types of music, artists with different musical talents and instruments, and more! If you have a love for music, you want your family to experience music of all kinds, or if you have a child wh plays or wants to play a musical instrument, this is the series for you!

    Segment 1: Candlelighters and Survivors Motorcycle Club

    Candlelighters of El Paso helps children and their families who have been affected by cancer. They help financially, emotionaly, and give support in many ways, especially around the holidays.

    Amber Banda interviews Melissa-Atkins-Wardy, CEO of Candlelighters El Paso, and Survivor's lady DeeDee on their upcoming 4th Annual Candlelighters Toy Run. The event will be Saturday December 13th and is open to all motorcycles and vehicles. Bring an unwrapped toy to 9300 Acer at 10:30am. the parade will start at 11:30 and go from 9300 Acer to 9031 Viscount, (the multi-purpose center) where the kids will be waitin to see all the bikes and vehicles! It truly is an amazing and heartwarming sight and you are invited to be a part of it!

    A real life donation vending machine for the holidays! Going on now through Dec 9 in front of the El Paso Community Foundation Room (at 333 N Oregon St). These machines work like a "regular" vending machine, but to help others this holiday season.

    Amber Banda interviews Alaine Bracken, City Lead for the El Paso and Las Cruces Giving Machines, and Alma Maese, Communication Director for the El Paso and Las Cruces Giving Machines. They talk about how these machines work, how they help, how they came to be in El Paso, and more.

    Segment 1: National Veteran's Outreach Programs (NVOP) in El Paso.

    Amber Banda interviews Ruben Marquez, Director of Client Services in El Paso, and Angelica Castillo, Case Manager in El Paso for the National Veteran's Outreach Programs. The NVOP helps veterans (and even non-veterans) who are facing risk of homelessness or food insecurity. Listen to learn what resources they have available to veterans, including help with job placement, housing, and more.

    They are having a Job and Self Improvement Fair at Basset Center Nov 10th from 10-4. Various organizations will be there to cater to the veteran community, including various departments from the VA and local businesses who are hiring. There will also be an unveiling of a mural inside Bassett Place Mall, which has been designated a Purple Heart Mall. There will be music, food, and more including awards presented to members of different non-profits who have gone above and beyond for the military and veteran community.

    Segment 2: Creative Kids El Paso

    Amber Banda interviews Andrea Gates-Ingle, Executive Director and Co-Founder, and Stephen Ingle, Co-Founder and Creative Director for Creative Kids, El Paso. Creative Kids El Paso is a nationally recognized non-profit in El Paso that started when 2 young college students learned that art can help children with certain disabilities better communicate.
    .
    Andrea and Stephen saw the need for this type of art "therapy" and have evolved it into projects for youth all over the city; from kids in juvie to kids who are at-risk or in low-income areas and would not otherwise be exposed to art and it's various forms. Their art has been displayed all over the city, from La Nube to the Locomotives and in their OLO gallery.

Did you know that El Paso is the flagship for the West Texas chapters of the Alzheimer's Association and they have a location and resources for you right here in the city? well you do now!

    Amber banda interviews Valerie Sanchez, Executive Director for the Alzheimer's Association, West Texas Chapter. Listen to learn about resources available to you, warning signs that you or a loved one may need to get checked, and about Proposition 14 which could equal big money towards research for a cure!
    .
    Be a part of (as valerie puts it), the largest support group for Alzheimer's in El Paso: The 2025 Walk To End Alzheimer's. This is the largest fundraising/ awareness group and you can be a part of it! Registration is FREE, but you can donate and show up to show support and learn more. It will take place Saturday November 8th at Ascarate Park on Delta. Gates open at 9am, festivities begin at 10am.
