    Segment 2: Community Health and Education Fair

    Amber Banda talks with Dinorah McMenamin, Executive Assistant for Family Service of El Paso, and John Rechtien, PA at Marathon Petroleum.

    Family Service of El Paso is the oldest non-profit mental health organization in El Paso. They believe no one should be turned away from help due to financial reasons. FSEP will be participating in Marathon Petroleum's annual "Community Health and Educational Fair" October 25th from 9am-noon at 6501 Trowbridge Drive, El Paso TX. There will be entertainment, giveaways, health screenings, and more. There will also be a limited quantity of free coats for children.

    Segment 3: YWCA presents "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes."

    Amber Banda talks with Shawn Ollis of Nusenda Credit Union, this year's Walk A Mile Legacy sonsor.

    Walk a Mile in Her Shoes supports YWCA El Paso’s Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center for survivors of domestic violence. At this event, men walk in high-heeled shoes to actively engage in solidarity in confronting gender stereotypes and expectations. Amber asks questions about the event, Shawn's personal experience, and most importantly, WHERE do guys find heels big enough?!

    You can be a participant or spectator Thursday, October 23rd at San Jacinto Plaza. Registration and park will open at 5pm, and the walk begins at 6pm, immediately followed by an afterparty with live music, food, drinks, and more!

    Amber Banda interviews El Paso's beloved Felipa Solis, Executive Director of El Paso Pro-Musica, est. 1977. Felipa talks about how EPPM makes Chamber Music more accessible to the community, especially in schools and areas where they would not normally be exposed to it. "From concert to classroom" as Felipa states, talking about how EPPM not only brings the music, they bring the education and along with that, the appreciation and creativity to the audience and students. Camfield Memorial Service which is held every year to honor and memorialize those in the biker community who are no longer with us. Frank talks about how this memorial came to be, the importance of it in the biker community, and what actually goes on at this event.     Segment 2: Thriving Kids Home Visiting of Southern, NM.

    If you have kids ages 0-5 and are in need of school readiness help, or you have a child of any age and need clothes and children items at low cost, or need to donate children's items, listen up! "Just Between Friends," El Paso's largest pop-up children's resale, is having another event to support Thriving Kids. Amber Banda talks with Claudia Trujillo, Program Manager for Thriving Kids, about the at-home visits and resources available to families in Southern NM. Amber also talks with Jennifer Quinn and Lyndsie Salcido, Sales Coordinators for "Just Between Friends." This pop-up market is so much more than being able to declutter your house and pick up bargains, this non-profit also helps organizations like "Thriving Kids" by donating items directly to the organzaition, as well as giving families the opportunity to get things free of charge.

    The re-sale event will take place Oct 22-26 at 750 Sunland Park Drive across from Academy Sports store, (formerly the Men's Dillards).

    Amber Banda interviews Vianey Esparza, Director of Marketing for the Amigo Airsho. did you know the Amigo Airsho is a nonprofit? They provide aviation focused classes and scholarships for youth in our communiy and of course, the Amigo Airsho!

    It's back again this year on October 18-19. This year their will be shows by the U.S. Air Force Viper F-16 Demo Team and the Patriots Jet Team, the pink jet from Flyred Arrow will be there promoting breast cancer awareness, and plenty to do on the ground as well including military vehicle displays, Maverick movie photo ops, food, music, vendors, free water and water refill stations, and more.

    Segment 3: CVMA 23-2 Bike Night for Boobs Scavenger Hunt!
    Amber Banda interviews Scoop, Public Relations Officer for CVMA 23-2, and Dixie, auxiliary. CVMA 23-2 auxiliary is having a "Bike Night for Boobs Scavenger Hunt" to raise funds for veterans who are victims of breast cancer and their families.
    .
    Saturday, September 27th, registration starts at 2pm at The Yard. Registration is $15, and from there you will be given more "clues" on the next stop. Although this event is biker oriented, all are welcome to help with this cause. Final/ end stop will be American Legion 58 in Northeast El Paso, (4724 Vulcan Ave). There will be some amazing raffles, food, music, and more.

This non-profit has been helping immigrants and refugees with free legal support and advocacy in West TX and NM since 1986. Listen to learn about what services the offer, how they are adapting to the government changes, and Sandra explains some common misconceptions when it comes to immigration and policies.

    Segment 2: American Legion-Auxiliary- Unit 58
    Enjoy some delicious BBQ while supporting veterans! Amber Banda talks with Robert Thomas, American Legion Post 58 1st Vice Commander and his wife, Armida Thomas, President of Auxiliary Unit 58. 
    .
    Unit 58, located at 4724 Vulcan Ave in Northeast El Paso, is having their 2nd Annual Supporting Veterans BBQ Cookoff on Saturday, September 13th from 9am-6pm.
    .
    There will be vendors, raffles, food trucks, beer, and cash prizes for competitors. Over 20 meat professionals will be competing to win the State Championship at this event, which also includes a veteran only cookoff. Funds raised will go to Unit 58 to support veterans. Listen to find out what American Legion Unit 58 does for the community, what the competitors will be judged on, whether or not you can judge for yourself, how this competition came to be, and more.

  • EPPF 8-31-25 FBI Recruitment, Amptgard Food Fight & Rudolph Helping Hands
    On this episode of the El Paso Public Forum, we have a 3 parter!

    Segment 1: FREEZE! The El Paso FBI is back in the station to talk about their FBI recruiting event September 5th at UTEP. They will have real agents and various FBI employees all in one place to give you answers from people actually doing it and in it! They will have SWAT demonstrations and computers available for on the spot sign-up. The FBI is SO much more than kicking down doors and flashing the badge, (which is pretty cool though).     Segment 2: Get out your midieval garb and weapons, it's time for a food fight! Amptgard "Kingdom of the Burning Lands" is this area's Live Action Role Playing organization, (LARPing). For the whole month of September they are challenging other kingdoms to a food fight and need your help to battle food insecurity. They are accepting in kind and monetary donations to be able to give back to our community's food banks.     Segment 3: You've heard of a 5k and 1 mile fun walk, but arre you ready for an 8k?! Rudolph Helping Hands is the Rudolph Auto Group's non-profit that gives back to the community in many ways. They are back for their 2nd annual "Changing Lives in the 915" 5k, 8k, and 1 mile fun walk. Following the massive success of their first run with over 450 participants, Rudolph Helping Hands hopes to get bigger and better this year! There will be live music from the Roulettes, raffles, prizes for participants in various age groups, FREE alcohol, and new this year they are offering the VIP experience with private tented area,  mimosas, a breakfast bar, comfortable seating, VIP parking and more.

He also talks about new type of therapy that him and his wife Kia specialize in called ETT.
