Electric Mornings with BYD: How BYD is revolutionising the EV industry

Listen Later

The drive towards sustainability in the automotive industry is growing, as climate change intensifies and environmental concerns mount.

In Singapore, the ultimate goal is for all vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040 as part of its Green Plan. And from 2030, all new cars and taxis registered here will be required to be cleaner-energy models.

But while we’re seeing staggering statistics with the automotive industry annually producing approximately 80 million vehicles, demanding a colossal 112 million tons of materials and contributing to over 10% of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions, there has been a relentless focus on driving electric vehicle adoption and supply chain decarbonisation that’s redefining the sector’s priorities.

On this episode of Electric Mornings with BYD, James Ng, Managing Director at BYD Singapore and Philippines shares his insights on what Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has done to support Singapore’s green shift on the mobility front, and how the company’s presence in Singapore has evolved over the years.
