Ember Church Sunday Sermon

Do you love God? Simple question. But what if you took out the answers that would have to do with what you do that shows that you love Him? Is there a love that is still more foundational than anything we can do? If so, what is it? That answer to that, is astounding…

Being rooted is essential to continued growth!

Has our relationship with God become just a series of checkboxes, style without substance? God wants so much more than that for us, and he'll stop at nothing to draw us closer to him. What does a meaningful, holistic relationship with God look like?

For the OT part of our SOAP’s this week, we are in Jerimiah. It is brutal. God’s critique of the people is Jerusalem is as unrelenting as the judgement that actually did happen. How do we reconcile with a loving God? Turns out the answer to that is one of the most amazing object lessons in all of human history. Buckle up, this is going to be a wild ride, but just wait till we get to our destination… Breathtaking...

Looking at that title, you might think it is at least a bit of an overstatement. Experience the depths of why it is not this Sunday. And If it is not, wow is this important!!!!

Did you know that the "P" in P. Curtis Brunk stands for Paul? Given that my namesake is Paul, the writer of much of the New Testament, you might think I would have an affinity for him. But, like most people, I found him to be demanding and doctrinaire, not really a people person. So while I was in awe of Him, he wasn't on my top 10 list of people to hang with. Until God showed me who Paul really is/was. Then I fell in love with him. And better, God opened an entirely new dimension to me. Experience it this Sunday!

So which passage from this week’s SOAPs is Curt going to use for the sermon? (Check your App or Lake Samm website for the list). It is a doozy! Be sure and experience it live, or catch us Live Stream or FB. Gonna be good!

This summer, the speakers will be looking at the SOAP readings for the week previous to the sermon on Sunday, and pick the “speedbump” that most stands out to them. So read the SOAPs for this week – on your App or our website – and see which one stands out to you, and then you can see if it’s the one the speaker chooses or the sermon. Should be fun!

Do difficult verses in the Bible about women frustrate and confuse you? We’ll challenge some conventional thinking to see how God’s heart FOR women is even greater that we ever imagined!
