There is something about being able to relax into a powerful conversation with a woman who is fiery, confident, devoted, embodied, and deeply practiced and experienced that gets me so so excited! In this episode Guru Jugat and I talk about her spiritual path through kundalini yoga, keeping it "real" while doing deep spiritual work, some of the awesome topics from her new book Invincible Living, and for those who love the creative side of things, some of the process of bringing the book to life. Patricia Moreno has been training, mentoring and educating people all over the world for over 30 years. In an effort to end her own struggle with her weight, eating disorders and body image issues, she created The intenSati Method, a life transforming workout which combines her expertise in fitness, dance, martial arts, yoga, nutrition, meditation and spiritual practices.
I remember a few years ago today's guest spoke at a friends' event and hearing some of the people I trust most to be discerning about spiritual mentors absolutely rave about her. Like they couldn't get over how deep and powerful what she shared was for them. I'm happy to report I felt it to by the end of this interview with Patricia Moreno as well. This is one of those kitchen sink conversations where we covered so many things and somehow it all gelled together beautifully. We covered parenting as a spiritual practice, and what to do when the parents don't necessarily agree on everything (and we even got a special visit from her daughters at the end as they got home from school!!). We talked about the problem with a dieting mindset and how to make positive sustainable change, living in the life's questions, transforming your concept of self, and my favorite part - she shared the origin story of her life transforming workout the intenSati Method. Enjoy the interview, I can't wait to hear which part you love most!

Some of you remember my dear friend Jill Coleman from her first appearance on the show in 2016. This time I've invited Jilly back to talk about something very specific that she is SO FREAKING GOOD at helping people with - Food Obsession. If you think about food all the time, beat yourself up about your choices, question yourself about it, feel frozen about making decisions because you've taken in so much conflicting or complicated nutrition information through books, magazines, and programs OR and you regularly don't know what to eat or can't enjoy an easy relationship to food for both vital energy and pleasure without feeling guilty or ashamed this interview will help.
About Jill Coleman:
In addition to launching her personal brand at JillFit.com in 2010, Jill Coleman was a co-founder of Metabolic Effect, Inc. Her 16-year journey in the health and fitness industry began when she got her very first job at a gym just for the free membership at 15!
Since then, it's a been a whirlwind of education in exercise science and nutrition, fitness competitions, landing several national covers for fitness modeling and plenty of business growth. Her work has been featured in SELF magazine, Family Circle, SHAPE, Women's Health magazine, Prevention magazine and many online news outlets like Yahoo Health, LiveStrong.com and AOL's That's Fit.
Her passion lies in coaching in the areas of mindset, body and business, which she does via her flagship program, The Best Of You (BOY) Coaching Club mentorship, as well as a few signature online programs, like the Mindset Makeover, the Food Obsession Boot Camp and her 52-week exercise program, the Total Training Experience (TTE).
In this episode, Jill shares:
1. Using food as a control mechanism so you can present a certain way 2. Using fullness, hunger, satiety and satisfaction to navigate the best choices for you personally 3. How to deal with all the reasons food creates guilt in your life - not finishing it, over-indulging, etc...

Something I love about young children is that they don't yet have the self-consciousness yet, because they haven't faced much rejection yet, to hold back from simply asking someone to be their friend on the playground. That's how I felt when Tasha Blank and I connected, and the playground was Instagram. The conversation basically went, "Hey I like how you be via your photos and your words, let's be friends." And once I heard her story, I had to have her on the podcast. Today's conversation is the result of a new, innocent, and friendly desire to connect with a kindred soul. We get into altering brain chemistry without using substances, dance as a path to connection, how life is full of maps and it's up to us to discover new territories. This is a really fun one. I know you will discover dormant parts of yourself as you listen and I can't wait to hear what comes up when you do!
About Tasha Blank:
Founder of New York City's legendary afterwork party The Get Down + force behind the global Deep House Yoga movement, Tasha has been a pioneer of positive club culture for nearly a decade.
She creates interactive sonic experiences that catalyze everything from underground warehouse parties and music festivals to morning raves and bass-heavy yoga events, and believes that dance is the quickest path to love in the here + now.
Whether bringing in musicians for spontaneous jams at festivals, or collaborating with her performance group The Get Down Crew to create infectiously high energy atmospheres, she works frequently with a wide range of live musicians including cellists, electric violinists, percussionists, full horn sections, beat boxers and MCs.
Her work with traditional African musicians has brought polyrhythms to 4 on the floor, and her live layered vocals add a soaring beauty and depth to both her deep minimal and big room tribal sonic journeys. Her DJ sets meet you in the moment + invite you on a physio-sonic trip into a newer, bigger you.
Clients, collaborations and features have included Cielo, Output, YouAreSoLucky, FunkBox, Envision Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, House of Yes, Google, Adidas, Samsung, W Hotel, Daybreaker, Luna bar, Yoga Journal, Wanderlust Festival, Lululemon, Elena Brower, Shiva Rea, Stephanie Snyder, DailyMail, Summit Series, Thump, New York Magazine, Thrillist, Refinery29, Flavorpill, Elephant Journal, Mantra Magazine, and MindBodyGreen.

In this episode, Tasha shares:
1. Finding yourself using dance as a path to connection 2. Discerning and interest from a calling 3. Languageless knowing - what it is and how you may experience it
