I'm excited to share today's episode with you wild ones. Robert Kandell is not just an uber intelligent, successful and funny dude, he's got a breadth of experience that made for an awesome conversation. We explored many facets of relationships and intimacy, from emotional intelligence and self-awareness, to specific practices around communication and how to intentionally function in partnership by creating processes that prevent boredom, getting sucked into routines or becoming resentful over time. Finally, my favorite thing we got into - how women are getting messed up by their own masculinity. This episode is full of things I know many of you can relate to. Enjoy!
About Robert Kandell:
Hailed as “part football coach, part loving dad, and part slightly crazed drill sergeant” Robert Kandell has spent the last sixteen years helping people re energize their lives and build better relationships through more honest and authentic connection.
After building a successful consulting firm in San Francisco, he then took his business acumen and co-founded OneTaste in 2004 with Nicole Daedone. Taking on the challenging task of bringing conscious sexuality to the mainstream market, Robert built the company from scratch to a high seven-figure international corporation. He left OneTaste in 2014 to start his own Consulting firm helping small businesses become marketable and profitable.
Robert is also an accomplished teacher, coach, and lecturer. He brings his enthusiasm and acumen to his weekly podcast, Tuff Love, on subjects around relationships, intimacy, communication and gender dynamics. For information and recordings, please visit www.TuffLove.live.
In this episode, Robert shares:
1. How to navigate masculinity and femininity in relationships
2. The blunder that changed Rob's life
3. Emotional intelligence among men and women
It's probably about time that I confess to you all that this podcast gig is just as much for me as it is for you. It's the best excuse ever to connect with people I've been dying to connect with anyway - and we just happen to record our great conversations and everybody wins. That's what today's interview felt like with Rachel Rodgers, a woman I respect a ton and appreciate as a badass mom, wife, and business woman in the world. Plus, she is LOUD and hilarious. This interview is fun and rebellious. We talk about bucking traditions, making your own rules, innovating in life and business, and how to spot what your kids are passionate about and encourage them to nurture those things. A quick warning, Rachel might be louder than I am so enjoy listening, and you might want to turn the volume down to start ;)
About Rachel Rodgers:
Rachel is a business lawyer turned business coach, intellectual property strategist, creator of Small Business Bodyguard and all around badass.
Before Rachel was showing service business owners how to build powerful products, she was running a very non-traditional law firm that disrupted the legal industry by making it surprisingly easy (and damn fun) for innovative companies to work with experienced attorneys and get the legal help they need to do the crazy stuff they want to do.
In 2013, she created the Small Business Bodyguard: Cover Your Bases, Cover Your Assets, Cover Your Ass. This game-changing legal resource has been called "fun and engaging" by New York Times bestselling author Chris Brogan and a "graduate-level course on how to build a strong foundation for your business" by CEO of OurDeal, Kyle Durand.
Rachel is known for being an innovator and master of productizing services and creating high-quality, high profit products. SBB and the other legal kits she's created have been transformative, generating over half a million dollars in revenue in just two years and serving 1,700 small businesses around the country.
Rachel has spoken on the subject of creating products, building solid service businesses and intellectual property in numerous venues including a class on CreativeLive, to MBA students at MIT and at various conferences including, InfusionCon.
Rachel received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York and her "MBA" the hard way, by building various successful ventures over the last 5+ years and learning from the best business minds out there. Before becoming an entrepreneur Rachel worked for various state and federal judges, a high-impact non-profit and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
When Rachel isn't taking care of clients or creating new products, she enjoys baking in the kitchen (barefoot, with rosé in hand), lifting weights, juicing (the green kind, not the steroid kind), reading to her toddlers, being a "dance mom" and going on new adventures with her family (her favorite destination being France, of course!).
In this episode, Rachel shares:
1. How to actually do it all (and not hate your life) 2. Evolving your relationship to money 3. Being who you are no matter what

There's a crass saying about break ups that, "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." That's certainly one way to go (and I can't say I haven't tried it in the past!), but the route I chose after my most recent one was to zoom in on the experience and really look at how I co-created all the parts that made it not a good fit. It's humbling work, not always pleasant, but so worthwhile for the long term and today's guest has played a pivotal role in the process with me. Terri Cole is a fierce and loving friend, brilliant therapist and coach, and someone with an abundance of wisdom and experience to share. She is super grounded as her new tagline, "It's not magic, it's psychology" indicates, and we dove deep into really important topics smart, highly driven and achievement oriented women (and men) should all be aware of in relationships. From our subconscious drivers and downloaded relationship blueprints to high-functioning co-dependency and gas lighting, this conversation is a big one. Listen more than once and pay attention for the parts that make you want to shut it off because they hit so close to home. We'll be doing a follow up webinar on Jan 11 to go even deeper and take Q+A, too. The link to register for that call as well as some extra resources Terri provided are all in the show notes. Enjoy!
About Terri Cole:
Terri Cole, LCSW, founder and CEO of Live Fearless and Free, is a licensed psychotherapist, transformation coach, and an expert at turning fear into freedom by combining practical psychology, thought innovation, and harnessing the power of intention to create sustainable change.
In this episode, Terri shares:
1. Unraveling control and manipulation in relationships 2. Understanding gas lighting, transference and secondary gain so you can spot them from now on 3. Looking at why we attract less than optimal romantic partners so we can stop doing it 4. Quitting co-dependency

All year I've been hearing the name Philip McKernan from people I really admire and respect like former podcast guests Giovanni Marsico and Samantha Skelly, so when his team reached out to us about having him on the podcast I was an instant, "Hell yes!" Philip believes the path to a happy and fulfilling life is found through the meaning we derive in life through the WORK we do, our relationship to OTHERS and the most important relationship of all, the one with ones SELF. In this interview we jam on all of that, along with other interesting stuff like navigating fear, uncertainty and limitations, the relationship between judgement and compassion, the purpose of pain, how anger keeps us from accessing our intuition and so much more. It's one of those conversations I didn't want to come to an end. You'll probably want to listen more than once. Enjoy!
About Philip McKernan:
Philip works with entrepreneurs and business leaders all over the world. When people are seeking clarity about their future or want to move through roadblocks, seen and unseen, they call Philip.
He helps people get clear on who they are and where they need to go. He helps them transition in their personal and professional lives so people feel aligned in all areas of life. Philip believes who and what we do ‘off the ice’ has a huge impact on our results ‘on the ice’.
In more recent times he has worked with the Canadian Olympic Team, The Pentagon and has shared the stage with other speakers like the Dalai Lama and Richard Branson.
With a knack of getting into all sorts of scenarios – he’s caddied in golf for the President of Ireland, been chased and nearly killed by a bull elephant in Nigeria and made wine in Australia. He has traveled to 80 countries around the globe and has worked with orphans in Sri Lanka, Peru, India and Guatemala, written 4 books despite being dyslexic and his first documentary film will be released in late 2016. The film explores how the gift of giving makes up feel more worthy and alive. It also explores the science behind the impact of giving on our emotional well being, our mental health, our physiology and our business’s.
Philip believes the path to a happy and fulfilling life is found through the meaning we derive in life through the WORK we do, our relationship to OTHERS and the most important relationship of all, the one with ones SELF.
In this episode, Philip shares:
1. Loving what you do, who you are and who you're with
2. How and where we lose our identities in life and what to do about it
3. Common misunderstandings about anger
4. Why people come together in partnership
It's rare that my enthusiasm reads as quietness, but that's what you're going to find in this interview, wild ones. It was so enjoyable to be with a woman who teaches and is into very similar things to Wild Soul Movement, and presents in a very different way. I stumbled upon Devashi on my friend Susana's podcast and knew immediately I must have her on the show. She is a private person and kind of mysterious but the gems she offers are deep - this conversation is an intriguing one. Enjoy!
About Devashi Shakti:
Dévashi Shakti - Founder of Tigress Yoga & Sacred Female Yoga teacher training, is a pioneer in feminine psycho-sexual development and practical Sacred Feminine wisdom. She has a few decades of experience as a practitioner, confidante and teacher. In her private practise, Dévashi has assisted thousands of women & couples to experience awakening of their internal energy. She’s passionate about providing sanctuary spaces for women to learn about their sensuality and sexuality in safe environments, without the ambiguous dynamics often found in the tantric world.
In this episode, Devashi shares:
1. What is feminine embodiment
2. Really being...and the many ways "thinking" gets in the way
3. Travel, nature, animals and how they can be our teachers
So excited about our first Thirsty Thursday episode. This sporadic series is designed to go deeper on topics that I know some of you are super thirsty for, but probably aren't relevant to our general audience. Today's topic is self-publishing. It's something I'm super passionate about and love to geek out on with those who are too, which is why our guest, Chandler Bolt is perfect. He's the founder of Self-Publishing School and believes in our ever-evolving digital age, self-publishing is the best and only way to go. If you're someone with dreams of writing a book, have a listen and enjoy! This discussion could help bring your dream to fruition sooner than you thought!

In this episode, Chandler shares:

2. What the process of self-publishing looks like
3. Why it's better to get your book done in a shorter time frame rather than dragging out the creative process

Enjoy!

This interview with Amber Krzys can only be described as juicy and ripe because there is SO MUCH to be squeezed out of it. We took a deep dive into deconstructing and reconstructing the programming and conditioning of our culture and society. We get into vulnerability - real vulnerability - not that forced kind that is so rampant in the self-help world these days. We geek out on our journeys and some of the embarrassing stops along the way - and Amber describes what she calls, "creating mutant versions of ourselves." There's TONS of gems in this one, listen closely!
About Amber Krzys:
Born and raised in a single-parent home in Charleston, WV, Amber attended Point Park University where she received an MFA in musical theater. She moved to New York City to pursue her passion of acting, ultimately working on Broadway and touring with the musical Mamma Mia. In 2009, she left the world of theater and earned an MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She founded two flourishing businesses as a professional coach and facilitator—bodyheart and Fierce Loving.
Amber has a thriving coaching practice where she serves a wide range of individuals, and also creates and facilitates her own coaching groups for body, business and life. Her individual clients range from moms, artists, small business owners to corporate and creative executives.
Amber's work as a professional speaker has been featured at TEDx Malibu, MSN, the White House blog, University of Southern California, Pennsylvania State University and more. Located in Los Angeles, Amber lives with her boyfriend and two rescue pups, and helps people change their lives for the better as a coach, speaker and author.
In this episode, Amber shares:
1. The Earth as a school and we each have our own curriculum 2. The issue is not the issue - how you relate to the issue is the issue 3. What she's learned speaking at tons of colleges and universities about the differences and similarities between how young men and women experience their bodies and physical appearance
