Now she is a poverty expert, author, speaker, the president & founder of Communication Across Barriers & teaches poverty solutions. Dr. Bapu Vaitla was born into a lower caste family in India that immigrated to the US when he was 5. He’s researched food security factors internationally, examined intersections between social & climate justice, housing, & now is a city council candidate.
