Topic: PUT YOUR ANGELS TO WORK (Part 3)!

Bible Text: Hebrews 1:14 TPT

14. What role then, do the angels have? The angels are spirit-messengers sent by God to serve those who are going to be saved.

INSPIRATION: If every believer pays keen attention to this question in Hebrews 1: 14, "What role then, do the angels have?" they would do well to maximise the use of their angels. Angels excel in strength by doing the Lord's commandments (Psalm 103: 20). They're alert to respond to whatever God wills, according to The Message Translation; they carry out God's plans (New Living Translation); they're powerful solders who obey God's commands (Easy-to-Read Version); they're mighty heroes who listen intently to God's voice to do it (The Paasion Translation), etc.

The reason angels excel in strength is because they primarily carry out God's agenda backed up by His Word. Knowing this, defines your responsibility: find out God's agenda, then activate angels to enforce same. God does nothing outside the place of His Word. Scriptures describe angels as armies of angels (Message translation), mighty heroes (The Passion Translation), powerful soldiers ( Easy-to-Read Version), all, suggestive of military might. It means you can deploy angels to fight for you.

Elisha prayed God opens the eyes of Gehazi to see those fighting on their side (2 Kings 6: 16 -17). Angels encamp round believers to deliver them (Psalm 34: 7). Don't fight from a disadvantageous "alone" position when angels await your instructions. As powerfully revealing as this truth is, your angels will not fight for you until you invite them to the battle. Their operational parameters are defined - you've to commission them to the task you want them to perform. It's that simple!

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Angels are your messengers. Send them errands. You're not alone, powerful angels stand beside you ready to carry out your instructions. Put them to effective use.

PRAYER: O Lord, please help me to know how to recognise and maximally deploy my angels. I refuse to fight alone or fight from a disadvantaged position, in Jesus name.

14. What role then, do the angels have? The angels are spirit-messengers sent by God to serve those who are going to be saved.

INSPIRATION: I like the way the Message translation captured Matthew 4:11, "...The Devil left. And in his place, angels! ..." The devil continues to strive to occupy where angels should, and when he does, his aim is to leave you in a needy state. I pray that angels would find you worthy of their visit; that they'd cater to every care in your life, that your life would be too unconducive for the devil to mess around with.

I activate and dispatch angels to speedily attend to every area of need in your life. The ministry of angels is supernatural as it is powerfully effective. Supernaturally, they back you up and add extra pep to your effectiveness. Daniel tells us angels bring answers to us from God (Daniel 10:11-13). They reveal God's agenda to man (Luke 1:19). Angels are God's sent envoy to serve those who are going to be saved.

They have their duties cut out for them to save your life from anything and everything that could impact it. But they do not just act. You have to activate, delegate and commission them to action. Angels are waiters; they wait on your orders. Have you commanded them yet? Have you issued specific instructions to them to execute? As good messengers do their master's bidding, so will angels if only you assign them roles to play.

Do you have need of an urgent dispatch to or from God? Are there answers you seek or things we want get done? Activate your angels now!

PRAYER: O Lord, I activate the ministry of angels and call forth strange manifestation of the supernatural in my life, in Jesus name.

INSPIRATION: Life should not be so hard to live, battles should not be so difficult to win, and ease should not be an impossible thing to enjoy when you know the tools at your disposal and you learn to effectively and efficiently deploy them. Most of our sufferings stem from our ignorance or lack of wisdom. Wisdom problem is frustrating both to the one who has it and those who interact with him.

Wisdom helps you know the importance of how and where to get help. Jesus needed help, so He summoned angels for strength and to take care of Him. You too should! Angels are messengers sent by God to help us.Their assignment is to wait on your orders like a Waiter does at a Restaurant. Imagine yourself at some exotic restaurant with Waiters at your service but you decide to serve yourself! That's what most people do when they don't know what to do with their angels.

Jesus knew what to do with angels, He simply activated them and they came to strengthen Him! He once said, "Do you suppose that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will immediately provide Me with more than twelve legions [more than 80,000] of angels" (Matt. 26:53 AMPC)? Angels are never in short supply and their assignment extends beyond you could possibly imagine. Do not deny yourself the pleasure and comfort their services bring by failing to use them as you should!

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

More than 80,000 angels (Matthew 26:53 AMPC)? You need to ask yourself, "What does Jesus know about angels that I need to know?

PRAYER: O Lord, please help me to know how to rightly activate and deploy angels assigned to minister care, strength and help to me, in Jesus name.

Topic: THE POWER OF TRUST (Part 4)

Memory Verse: "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God" - Psalms 20:7 NKJV

Bible Text: Psalms 56:3 NKJV

15. Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

INSPIRATION: Simple defined, "trust" is, confidence in or reliance on some person or quality. The Psalmist expresses this confidence in God when he said he would trust God when he's afraid. Fear has a very strong grip that erodes confidence, and everyone experiences fear to a varying degree. Be it the fear of success, failure, stage fright or the fear of the unknown, we all get afraid somehow.

The answer to fear is, "But in the day that I’m afraid, I lay all my fears before you and trust in you with all my heart" (Psalm 56:3). Do this always! You can never go wrong when you cast all your cares on Christ and trust Him to come through for you, quell the fears and restore peace to your heart. The flight or freeze mood that follows fear can have nothing on you once you turn to God. Rather, He elevates your perspective and rebuilds your confidence to face them.

As we confidently trust God, He becomes our refuge. The Psalmist say "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people" (Psalm 118:8). To shatter the grip of fear, especially, in uncertain times such as we are now requires total trust in God. Your strength, knowledge, connections or skills may never deliver at the same level as trusting God would. Trust moves the focus away from you and puts God at the centre stage and steering wheels of your concerns. Trusting God gives you  complete victory in all your troubles (Roman 8:37).

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

When dealing with uncertainties, it is in your best interest to trust God through it. Trusting God increases your confidence level and builds His refuge around you to shield you. In all you do, trust God!

PRAYER: O Lord, help me to develop firm trust in You at all times; cause my trust to provoke Your strange acts in my life, in Jesus name.

Topic: THE POWER OF TRUST (Part 3)!

Memory Verse: "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God" - Psalms 20:7 NKJV

Bible Text: Job 13:15 NKJV

15. Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him.

INSPIRATION: Trust is not a decision of convenience but one made out of a deeply rooted conviction. Job sets the bar so high when he declared, "I will continue to trust God even if he kills me..." (Job 13:15 ERV). He was so emphatic that his trust was not tied to anything he might be benefitting from God. He was willing to die trusting God. What a sweepy testament and a big challenge to our faith profession today. He affirmed God would still be God regardless of his present realities.

He was explicitly avowing that nothing could separate him from the love and trust of God (Rom. 8:35-36). Sarah, Abraham's wife, had judged God faithful to keep to His promise of a child even though she had passed the age of childbearing and had not yet received a token of evidence for the promise (Hebrews 11: 11). What an absolute expression of trust! Should we talk of Abraham who held the belief that God would raise Isaac up from the dead and so was willing to sacrifice his only son? Believers must come to that crucial point in our trust level with God where nothing else matters.

We must affirm our absolute trust in God's power to save us to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25) like the three Hebrew boys declared (Daniel 3:17-18). Trust is daring and resolute; it stretches one to his limits. It is an affirmative action that is built around the unwavering nature and characteristics of the person or object it is bestowed. What's the characteristic nature of God that is deeply formed in your heart that could make you say like Job, "I will continue to trust God even if he kills me..." (Job 13:15)?

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Absolute trust in God is possible when you develop a passionate resolve that's based on knowledge of His unchanging nature.

PRAYER: O Lord, help me not to only trust You but to affirm same publicly that my trust for you is not affected by anything; I receive grace to live by this conviction always, in Jesus name.

Topic: THE POWER OF TRUST (Part 2)

Memory Verse: "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God" - Psalms 20:7 NKJV

Bible Text: Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NKJV

5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

INSPIRATION: It is vain to trust in the arm of flesh, and futile to rely on the power of your weaponry or of technology. Ascribing your victory to your strength or know-how is an unwise move because there're people far stronger and smarter than you who do not enjoy the victories you enjoy even when faced with less fierce battles. The psalmist tells us, "For they did not take the land by their sword — their arm did not bring them victory — but by your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable toward them" (Psalms 44:3 CSB)

Elsewhere, the Psalmist says, "Some find their strength in their weapons and wisdom, but my miracle-deliverance can never be won by men. Our boast is in Yahweh our God, who makes us strong and gives us victory!" (Psalm 20:7 TPT). It is only the name of the Lord that is worth boasting about or remembering in times of trouble. For "The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe" (Proverbs 18:10 NIV).

Our heart can safely and confidently trust in His name. His name has a warranty that does not expire, it carries the potency and authority which everything else recognises and bows to (Philippiabs 2:9-10). Would you rather trust in a name that can't save (Acts 4:12; John 8:36)? Or would you rather trust a name that can't guarantee you access to God (John 14:6)?

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Never form the habit of trusting in vain glory or things that can't come to your help when it matters most. On the contrary, you can put your absolute trust in the Lord God.

PRAYER: O Lord, help me to prioritise your name above anything else. I receive grace to fully trust and depend on the name of Lord Jesus Christ, knowing that in Your name, my victory is sure, in Jesus name.

Topic: THE POWER OF TRUST

5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

INSPIRATION: Trust is a very scarce and expensive commodity these days. You cannot expect it from cheap people. A lot of us cannot be trusted with resources, classified information or secrets. Many would divulge at the slightest opportunity or provocation, especially, in this era of social media where it has become so easy and fashionable to call people out once they offend us.

Yet, in all of these, the Psalmist instructs us to trust God with all our hearts! Trust doesn't come easily. It is not what can be demanded but earned over a period of time. Has God earned your trust yet? If I don't trust you, I won't engage in some level of discussion with you; trust is an offshoot of intimacy and confidentiality.

A few things happen when we trust God. Firstly, He takes over the wheels of control, leaving us with nothing to worry about because our understanding is unfruitful (1 Cor. 14:14). Secondly, we get direction as an added advantage, knowing it is not in man to direct his ways (Jere.10: 23; Ps.17: 5). Thirdly, trusting God opens us up to the bigger picture we can leverage on which might never happen with our limited insight

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

It pays to trust in Jesus. Your trust does not bring Him any benefits but you'd cheat yourself from everything for refusing to trust God. The kind of security alone that you enjoy for trusting in God cannot be found anywhere else.

PRAYER: O Lord, teach me to trust You. Help me to know and remember always that You're accountable and dependable, and that I can confidently lean on you anytime and be safe, in Jesus name.

Topic: IMPLICATED FOR MORE (Part 2)!

Memory Verse: "Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled" - John 6:26 NKJV

Bible Text: Exodus 3:3‭-‬4 NKJV

3. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
4. So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

INSPIRATION: Following the aftermath of the miracle of the burning Bush and Jesus' feeding of the multitude, it is obvious that there's more to a miracle than we ascribe to it. A miracle should point you back in the direction of God. As soon as Moses turned aside to see the unconsumed bush, God caught his attention and spoke!

God is still craving our attention today like He did with Moses and the multitude that Jesus fed. That attention is very important to God and it should be more important to you as well. God has nothing to lose if He refuses to give you a miracle but you have everything to lose if you get stuck at the instance of a miracle and couldn't get intimate with God.

Miracles should inspire you to a deeper personal relationship with God; it should drive you to the heart of God, reveal His love and agenda; miracles diffuse the fragrances of God's graces, communicates His mercies in ways that our hearts are smitten and stirred up to seek the Lord; a miracle is God's tool for revival, and an essential reason He implicates you in one. So when next you desire a miracle, have these at the back of your mind as the aftermath.

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Discern God's intent for initiating a miracle and don't be caught up in the frenzy of its temporary physical benefits while the most enduring spiritual benefits are lost due to your insensitivity. Desire to know the ways of God more than you know His acts.

PRAYER: O Lord, please help me to know You more intimately than ever; satisfy this longing in me so much so that I don't get stuck with physical handouts at the expense of developing a deeper personal relationship with You, in Jesus name.

Topic: IMPLICATED FOR MORE!

INSPIRATION: My early Christian years witnessed miracles and answers to prayers of all kinds that I thought life was going to remain on that scale, but I was mistaken. Soon after, I would pray, believe but see nothing. It was quite frustrating. Little did I know those prompt answers were my training induction phase. God did all that to get my attention, same way He used the unconsumed Burning Bush to get Moses's attention.

God still implicates us in a miracle. For us, we may be excited about the miracle but God's focus is using it to get our attention. Miracles are important, no doubt, but they are often not the essence. There's more to the miracles we witness - God uses them to attract us. When the burning Bush caught the attention of Moses, he turned aside to pay attention to the "more." When he did, God called out to him!

When we fail to discern, we miss God's intentions and start chasing the wrong things like those who came after Jesus because of bread (John 6:26). Whilst God implicated them in a miracle of that nature so they could feed on His Word, their focus was on how they would feed on bread. Such misplacement of priorities is still ruining people today.

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

Miracles are channels through which God gets our attention to build intimate relationships with us. Do not mistake His acts for what they aren't, else you'll miss the greater lessons and benefits that was His intention of initiating the miracle.

PRAYER: O Lord, please give me a discerning heart to see beyond the surface in my walk with You; help me not to abort Your plans that predates my miracles, in Jesus name.

Topic: THE GAME CHANGER (Part 2)!

Memory Verse: "...God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did" - Romans 4:17 NKJV

Bible Text: 2 Kings 4:26 KJV

26. Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

INSPIRATION: Jesus said, "...I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says" (Mark 11:23). Until we identify our 'mountain' and  address it, nothing moves. Speak to your situation in faith; address your mountains with the language it cannot resist.

Prayer is not measured by its length or grammatical construct, but in the quality and quantity of faith that we put into it. Faith is measurable! If your prayer is weighed, would it have any trace of faith? Another game changer is genuine worship. Worship moves the heart of God and dethrones the enemy. Genuine heartfelt worship brings God into the equation and stirs up the atmosphere of miracles.

Not a thing can withstand God's presence if it wasn't originally in His plans for your life. God's presence is a major game changer, and worship is the vehicle that conveys it. God still seeks true worshippers today (John 4:23), and you could use it as your game changer to change the dynamics of your life. When was the last time you deployed genuine praise? God does fearful wonders under an atmosphere of heartfelt praise.

TODAY'S TAKE HOME:

The barometer with which our prayer is measured is not in its longevity or verbal construct, but in the quality and quantity of faith that we put into the business of praying.

PRAYER: O Lord, I receive Your grace to speak to my situations by faith and to offer genuine worship to You in spite of my reality, until my change comes, in Jesus name.
