What battle are you facing that only God can win?

Where can you run when you need mercy?

Today’s devotion from Deuteronomy 19:1–21 reminds us that God is a God of justice, truth, mercy, and refuge. Through the cities of refuge, God protected those who caused accidental death from immediate revenge while still ensuring that deliberate evil was judged rightly.

This chapter teaches us that justice must never be driven by anger, gossip, revenge, or false accusations. God commanded careful investigation, honest witnesses, and righteous judgment. His people were called to protect life, preserve truth, respect boundaries, and live with integrity.

This message speaks powerfully to our world today, where rumors, assumptions, dishonesty, and false accusations can spread quickly. Followers of Christ must be people of truth, fairness, mercy, and integrity.

Most importantly, the cities of refuge point us to Jesus Christ. We come to Him not as innocent people, but as sinners in need of grace. At the cross, God’s justice and mercy meet perfectly. In Christ, we find forgiveness, protection, restoration, and eternal hope.

How do you know if God is really speaking?

Who really rules your life—God’s Word or your own way?

This message speaks deeply to believers today. Modern idols may not be carved from wood or stone, but they can still capture the heart. Success, comfort, money, reputation, social media, entertainment, relationships, and personal ambition can slowly take the place that belongs to God alone.

Deuteronomy 12 calls us to examine our hearts honestly. Are there rival altars still standing within us? Are we worshiping God according to His truth, or according to what feels right in our own eyes?

Through Jesus Christ, we are invited to worship the Father in spirit and truth. Pure worship is not empty religion. It is a surrendered life, a devoted heart, and joyful obedience to the One who alone is worthy.
