The conversation with Marian Bahader continues to unchartered waters... Addressing the controversial field of empowering women within male-led anti-discussions, advocating women empowerment without alienating the men in our lives, embracing natural hair and beauty, and taking the time to “not feel okay.”
A marketeer by profession, Marian Bahader works on building and revamping brands and enjoys working with companies and startups with a purpose. She also refers to herself as a self-development enthusiast and an over-sharer for all things useful which led her to build and create a blog Ma7adesh 2aly (No One Told Me) through which she simplifies the concepts behind the books and the learnings of the gurus within the self-development arena. Marian is driven by purpose in her personal and professional life and targets collaborations with all things that have a cause as she leads a mindful life. She believes her turning point of embracing her multiple potentials came with turning 40 and has been actively working on exploring herself and her interests accordingly since then.

As a multipotentialite personality, Marian Bahader embraced the fact that she can do what comes naturally to her professionally and still come out to the region with a blog that gained wide popularity as it brings to an Arabic population the notions of self-development in an easy-to-comprehend format. Alongside, she also teamed with individuals who align with her principles to embark on an initiative to support women in rural areas in Egypt. The conversation with my “hopeful” and bubbly AUC college friend is not one to miss.

Muneera Al-Kubaisi, Founder of Good Life Market, became passionate about taking a new approach to dieting and eating nutritious food after three years of embarking on a journey to lose weight and improve her health and well-being. Muneera decided to take the education she gleaned from her extensive research on living a healthy lifestyle to the people of Qatar, and the idea for the Good Life Market was born with the aim of empowering others with this type of knowledge and enlightenment about nutrition and nourishment. The Market became a one-stop-shop for not only nutritious, wholesome, healthy food products, it also became a platform for wellness advocacy whether through the contribution to community wide events or creating tailored events too. As a woman, she also ensured that these events catered to empowering other women by associating wellness with body positivity, nutrition and physical activity rather than perceived body shape, measurements, and external validation.

Considering that mental issues will be the #1 cause of illness by 2030 and cost more than cancer, diabetes and respiratory diseases combined, we aimed to raise awareness of how to advocate and cater for mental health within the work environments, whether it is within what used to be, the re-emerging WFH context, or transitioning into a ‘new normal.’
