Fitness trainers have an expression: “Get it right!” Any exercise, from simple breathing to the most complex routine, must be done in the best possible form to ensure optimal performance, gain and benefit to the body. Just as doing exercise is a workout for the body, doing mitzvas is a workout for the soul, making the soul strong and healthy. In that respect, good spiritual form is important for fulfilling a mitzva, so when it comes to observing the Torah, we have to "get it right" too.
The third Principle of Emuna, that Hashem has no physical attributes nor can a finite being comprehend Him, is one of the most difficult to learn and internalize. Today's lesson shows that four hurdles stand in our way; these four hurdles are also the key to our personal and national challenges since the beginning of time.

We're delighted to share the replay of the Emuna Hour with Rabbi Lazer Brody this past Wednesday, 4 Nov., 2020. It's called "The Search for Truth," a guide to finding joy and purpose in life.
Today's EmunaNews examines the spiritual setting of the final moments of the USA Presidential contest between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Derech Avot, "The Way of the Forefathers," is the ancient road between Hevron and Jerusalem used to make pilgrimage to our Holy Temple from the south. On the way, there are a series of ritual baths - mikvas - that pilgrims would use to purify themselves. Rabbi Lazer Brody shows the remarkable lesson we learn here, for we're not just talking about a "way" to travel along, but a way to live our lives.
