En Rogue

Ally and Michelle rip and tear into the latest traditional roguelike darling! After a lengthy production cycle and a good amount of time in Early Access, Ally and Michelle ask the important questions of the genre’s current chart-topper: Was it worth it? What does it mean to have Jupiter Hell’s history? Have you lost your goddamn minds?

On a new Off Rogue: Ally and Michelle announce their talk at Roguelike Celebration 2021, dive into the controversy around Boyfriend Dungeon, and discuss 1993's Doom as a background for the surprise topic of the next En Rogue!

Join Ally and Michelle as they dive into Into the Breach! Get ready for robot slinging time travelling puzzle-ish tactics and the usual clueless banter you've come to expect. Sadly the end of this episode has some audio issues and we didn't have a single use time machine handy when we needed one.

Ally and Michelle explore the final frontier: a 2011 Kickstarter darling. We also have a new studio, finally! Get those engines back online, set your targets to fun and be sure to avoid asphyxiation in to this episode of En Rogue.

Hey listeners! Join us for a mini sized episode where we talk about moving and reveal the plan for the next two games we review!

Ally and Michelle celebrate releasing ten episodes of En Rogue! We’re doing this on episode 11 because that’s the kind of people we are. On this Off Rogue, we discuss a game that is almost a roguelike, why we keep having this tired old discussion, and the ship of Sisyphus. You read that right.

Ally and Michelle delve deep into the depths of Angband and take note of a few of its many, many variants. We also go into a whole host of other topics, such as the difficulty of reviewing games that have been updated over the course of decades, history of J. R. R. Tolkein, and Diablo! Angband’s a classic, and whether you’ve played it, heard of it, or are completely ignorant to its’ existence, we think it’s worth giving another run.

Ally and Michelle take on ToME. Which ToME, you may ask? Well, we’ve decided to just bite the bullet and do them both: Tales of Maj’Eyal and Tales of Middle Earth, and in the process touch on Angband-likes as a genre. It’s a series of games that some of the most popular RPG’s in the world owe their roots to, so join us as we dive in!

Join Ally and Michelle for a special bonus minisode where we react to an IGN article with a top ten list of "The Best Roguelike Games".
