I was working with one of my Coaching Clients this week and they were talking about a book concept. They're really excited about the possibilities... but they're a little nervous. They KNOW the content will change lives (because it's changed HER life) but she doesn't have a lot of social proof and success stories yet. She'd thought about trying to go away to an AirBnB for a week or two to write it... but her schedule was full and she was a little worried about the finances of taking that approach too. So... I introduced her to a simple but powerful strategy she could use that would allow her to get paid as she wrote the book... PLUS... it would allow her to gather social proof and case studies... as well as build momentum and interest too! As you can imagine... she was alllllll ears!
More importantly, after she heard about the strategy... she excitedly said, "Ohhhh I can do THAT!" Wooohooooo!

Perfectionism is an ENCOURAGER KILLER! That's right! I hear it from so many of the amazing Coaches, Speakers and Content Creators that I get to work with. That although everything looks awesome on the outside... if we dig in... we find that perfectionism is holding them back from the higher levels of greatness they know they could be achieving. And hey... if you coach and/or speak to high-achievers... you know that perfectionism is rampant in that group too! So... they need you to help them overcome it too! And hey... let's get real. This is something I have to be intentional about... daily. So yeah... a question came in on this subject to I want to give you the 3-word phrase that I lean on every dang day!

Hey... Coach, Speaker or Content Creator... today we're getting some SURPRISING inspiration from a familiar story. It's something I noticed for the very first time... about the story of the birth of Jesus. It's something to INSPIRE you and me... and it's been hiding right there in the scriptures for a few thousand years! (But I've never really noticed it until 2022!!!). So... ENCOURAGER... I wanted to share it with you ENCOURAGE you! And to share a reminder that YOU can do AMAZING things... no matter where you're from and no matter what you've done. Yup... It's Christmas week... so it's "SURPRISING GIFTS" week.
Each day... I'm sharing ONE STORY (with some strategies too) of some "good surprises" that have hit me and/or others on our journey to becoming a WELL PAID ENCOURAGER.
Hey... Coach, Speaker or Content Creator... today we're talking about the wildly important reminder: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
This is soooooo important... because let's BE REAL! When we're on the road to building and growing a coaching and speaking business that makes the world a better place AND pays us well as we do that... there are going to UPS and there are going to be downs. And a recent message from a fellow Encourager reminded me of that! The short version of the story is that this guy is a rock star and his coaching and speaking business has been growing in all the right ways... BUT... he got sucker-punched by something and he reached out to vent a bit. We've alllll been there... right? Things are going great and right on schedule and then BAM! Something hits us and knocks us down. It's not fun. Heck... it's hard. But the SURPRISING GIFT to remember is... YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! If you've been hit by something... BIG or small lately... I hope this episode encourages YOU! Because YOU deserve it!
Also... tomorrow will be episode 60!!! Wooohoooo! And it will also be the end of season ONE! I'm going to take some of my own advice and get some R.T. (episode 58) in... and have some restorative time. Then... we'll crank back up with season TWO the first week of January!

Each day... I'm sharing ONE STORY (with some strategies too) of some "good surprises" that have hit people on their journey to becoming a WELL PAID ENCOURAGER.
Hey... Coach, Speaker or Content Creator... today we're talking about YOU giving YOURSELF a wildly important gift... the gift of "R.T." - RESTORATIVE TIME! That's when you intentionally take some time to reenergize and rejuvenate.
This is something that's often overlooked or dismissed by Encouragers. That's because we tend to 1.) be natural Encouragers (and we love to coach, teach and encourage others), 2.) put others first and 3.) there always seems to be something we COULD be doing! So... it's natural to not give yourself the "gift" of some R.T. But... at the same time... if we don't... we tend to start loosing our drive and creativity... even though our days can be filled with things we love doing (like coaching and speaking and creating content). On today's episode... I'm sharing the story of a recent conversation with an Encourager who was in need of some SERIOUS "R.T." but was dangerously close to making a BIG mistake with it. This conversation reminded me to remind YOU of the importance of R.T. but to also remind you to create some intentional time over the holidays (or on any week you're listening to this) to RESTORE in the way that YOU restore! Amen?
