Encouraging the Encouragers

That's right!  In order to stay ENCOURAGED... you have to revisit YOUR mission from time to time.

THE QUESTION: "I'm a new coach and I'm trying to figure out whether I should offer coaching via face-to-face meetings OR should I do it via the phone or zoom?  I guess I'm really asking: 1.) Is one better than the other and 2.) can I charge as much if I do it over zoom? (Which is what I'd prefer!)"

Here's a KEY strategy you can use to expand your network of interesting... encouraging... amazing people who are doing cool things!

When I was first getting started as a Life Coach and Speaker... I'd just moved and I didn't know ANYONE!!!  

Not only was I trying to build my business on the side of a full-time "bad-fit" job, but we were busy with two small children!  

I knew I needed to expand my network so I could connect with potential clients but I also wanted to get to know inspiring and cool people in my area!  

So... I used THIS strategy to meet and get to know about 50 new people in my area is a short period of time.

And hey... I'm an introvert... so if it worked for ME... I bet it will work for YOU too!

Today... we are talking with THE Travis Crutcher!  He's a retired Army Ranger who rocketed up the corporate latter... and then like me... found himself promoted into a bad fit job.  Well... a few years ago Travis joined ACCELERATION... a Mastermind I started for Coaches and Speakers.  There... he learned some specific business strategies he used to quit his "bad-fit" position and he quickly built a six-figure coaching and speaking business!

Whew!

Yup.  When I look back on my own journey to becoming a WELL PAID ENCOURAGER... one of the KEYS has been being intentional about who I surround myself with!

I'll tell you I was inspired by these types of great thinkers who said,

The better you are at surrounding yourself with people of high potential, the greater your chance for success. - John C. Maxwell

Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who'll argue with you. - John Wooden (AKA: Ted Lasso referred to him as John Obi-Wan Gandolf.)

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great. - Mark Twain

Specifically... I decided to meet with two like-minded speakers who were growing their speaking and training businesses too!  Then we met monthly to discuss the 3 KEY questions I offer in this episode.  (Yup... you'll have to listen to the episode to get the questions! :) ) 

Also... stay tuned for some "Encouraging Friends" episodes! (The first will come tomorrow!). These will be episodes where I'll introduce you to some Encouragers who are killing it in our space and I ask the question, "What's something you wished you'd known sooner on your journey to becoming a Well Paid Encourager!"
