¡Buenos dias, buenas tardes, y buenas noches a todos! Episode 6 presents a wave of interesting and breaking entertainment law stories! Tony and Evan kick it off with a breakdown of the lawsuit against Bad Bunny for violating the personality rights and moral rights of his ex-fiancé Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez (04:58). The lawsuit stems from a voice memo she made of her saying "Bad Bunny, Baby!" that has been featured as a "tag" at the start of two different Bad Bunny songs. The crazy part is...SHE NEVER GAVE PERMISSION TO USE THE VOICE MEMO IN THOSE SONGS! Later (17:10), Tony and Evan touch on a report from Variety (that his since been debunked) in which the Writers Guild of America was entertaining a proposal that would allow writers to use artificial intelligence software like Chat-GPT to create full scripts/screenplays and the writer would touch it up and still be named the principal writer. The problem though is that the US Copyright Office, and copyright law, in general, doesn't recognize AI-generated works as worthy of copyright protection. Tony and Evan then touch on Marvel Studios potentially pursuing legal action against the individual who leaked the script for the latest Ant-Man film on Reddit (24:51). Was it a leaker and are they subject to the rules of criminal copyright infringement? Or was this a Marvel Studios employee who leaked the script and is governed under an NDA? The fellas finish off today's episode by sharing their favorite movie theater snacks.

Episode 5 of "End Scene" presents a full docket of entertainment law topics to discuss! First, the "Happy Birthday" song has been integrated into our lives for a long time, but did you know the song originated over 100 years ago? Up until recently a certain iteration of "Happy Birthday" was protected by copyright until it entered the public domain in 2016. Tony and Evan discuss the Happy Birthday sing-along at the 2023 Oscars (2:18). Later, in the wake of the Ja Morant/Powerade separation and Jamie Lee Curtis’ wish to not be “cancelled” at the Oscars, Tony and Evan discuss morality clauses in endorsement contracts and what it means for a celebrity to be “cancelled" (13:07). Third, in light of the release of "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" in theaters on March 17, Tony shares the incredible story of how Shazam! (formerly called "Captain Marvel) was accused of infringing on the copyright of Superman (24:37). Finally, Tony and Evan wrap up today's episode and share their three favorite classic rock bands.

Finally, Tony and Evan share 3 of their Oscar picks for this Sunday's Academy Awards as well as their most memorable moment in Oscars history (29:05).

This is a jam-packed episode of "End Scene" this week, recorded this week in Tony's epic office filled with comic book paraphernalia.  Evan and Tony discuss the lawsuit brought by the woman accused of shooting Lady Gaga's dog walker, alleging that she accepted Lady Gaga's unilateral agreement of $500,000 for returning her missing dogs and is due that money (02:30).  Should criminals be rewarded even though they committed a crime?  Later, Evan and Tony discuss the lawsuit initiated by WarnerMedia against Paramount, MTV, and South Park Digital Studios over a breach of an exclusivity contract claim between South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker and WarnerMedia that would have allowed South Park episodes past and present to live on the HBO Max streaming platform (10:28).  Evan and Tony then spend a little time talking about the Jack Daniel's v. VIP Products case that is going before the Supreme Court, with oral arguments set for March 22, and they talk about the HILARIOUS amicus brief that was filed by MSCHF in favor of VIP Products (24:03).  Finally, Tony and Evan share their dream casting (spoiler alert: it's for Marvel Studios films).

In the second episode of "End Scene," hosts Evan Naar and Tony Iliakostas talk about the incredible story of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt Disney's first major cartoon creation (02:34).
