Katie Lafferty and Roma Ahi are the producers of this year's Canadian Screen Awards, airing on April 16 and hosted by Samantha Bee. Katie and Roma talk about the new hybrid model of the CSA, how they work with the host, having film & TV in one ceremony, how streaming can affect ratings and the state of the Canadian Industry as a whole.

Connie Cocchia is the filmmaker behind When Time Got Louder, a lovely story about a girl and the lengths she goes to protect her younger brother, who is non-verbal and on the autism spectrum. It also follows her as she goes away to college and comes to term with her sexuality. What does mean to Connie to create awareness for both the LGBTQ+ community (of which she is a member) and Autism and ASD? She talks about how the story was inspired by the relationship with her own sibling and how she sought authenticity by casting Jonathan Simao, who plays the role of Kayden, and is on the autism spectrum himself. When Time Got Louder stars Willow Shields, Jonathan Simao, Lochlyn Munro, Ava Capri, and Elizabeth Mitchell and is in currently in limited release across Canada.

Colin West is a writer-director whose new feature is Linoleum starring Jim Gaffigan, Rhea Seahorn, Katelyn Nacon, Ian Michael Black, and Tony Shalboub. It follows an engineer who builds his own homemade rocket after a satellite crashes in his back yard. Colin talks about why we want to Astronauts, the reality (realities?) we are living, hiring a comedian for a dramatic role and telling a love story. Linoleum is out now.

Aaron James is a filmmaker from Canada who is the man behind Guitar Lessons, a poignant drama starring award-winning Canadian musician Corb Lund. Why are we reluctant heroes and role-models? What do we get out of relationships? Aaron answers these questions and more. Guitar Lessons is out now.

Ryan Moccasin is an indigenous writer and comedian, who is the creator and executive producer of the new APTN sketch show The Feather News, in which he also occasionally appears in. The Feather News is a comedy sketch show that parodies government and media from an indigenous perspective. It premiered February 14th.

Brittany Bristow is an actress most familiar to Hallmark audiences. Now, she stars in the Icelandic horror-thriller Shadowtown opposite the iconic John-Rhys Davies. She talks her involvement in the project, her love of horror, and working opposite Gimli. The film will be released on VOD and Digital on February 21st.

Maurice LaMarche is a renowned voice actor best known for his role as "The Brain" in both Animaniacs and its spin-off Pinky and the Brain. He has also done work for Rick & Morty, The Simpsons, Futurama, Johnny Bravo, Recess, Powerpuff Girls, Rugrats, and the films Frozen, Zootopia, Space Jam - in which he voiced Pepe Le Pew - and Tim Burton's Ed Wood , in which he dubbed the voice of Orson Welles. In his new film Murder Anyone?  he stars in a rare on-screen performance, in a film written by James Gordon Bressack, based on a script written by his late father Gordon, a long time friend and collaborator of Maurice, The film was released digitally on February 7th.

Jason Eisener is a film director most known for his cult hit Hobo With a Shotgun. A decade later, he is back with another to-the-point titled film Kids Vs. Aliens, which began as a segment in the anthology V/H/S2. Jason talks about working with kids to create horror, the aliens, and what it all really means. The film is out now.

Winnifred Jong is the creator of the hit webseries Tokens (season 2 premiering on the Roku Channel on January 10th). Set in the world of actors cast by productions desperate to hit their diversity quotas, Season 2 of TOKENS pivots from the comedic overuse of On Call Casting, the democratic Uber-ization of diverse representation in Season 1, to a comedy about the hunger-gaming of casting and the need to stay ahead of the trend. Sammie Pang (Connie Wang), in her quest to find a meaningful role, quits On Call Casting and lands a Hollywood agent and, seemingly, the role of a lifetime. She soon realizes being on top isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Season 2 moves the idea of inclusion in front of the camera to the need for authenticity behind the camera.

Edward Drake is an Australian filmmaker known for his subversive action flicks including Breach and Cosmic Sin. He recently completed work on the Detective Knight trilogy with collaborator Corey Large, the 2nd of which Detective Knight: Redemption is now out on VOD. He also weighs in on working with Bruce Willis and whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Endeavours is back from hiatus and welcomes film director Clare Niederpruem (Christmas With The Campbells) and actor Kamyar Pazandeh (Carousel Theatre's The Three Little Pigs). It's the holiday season, and theatre and film always make a big splash this time of year. Both the guests talk about what makes good Christmas entertainment!
