Thanks to Mike Ricci (https://d3multisport.com/) for joining me to discuss the current status of endurance sport, things we have learned from our athletes who have ventured back to racing in 2021, how we are going to help them and others moving forward, and how you can help yourself be more prepared to race. We also chat about effective strategies for dealing with races and events you are competing in that are hotter than you expected. Finally, we each share one of our favorite workouts to prescribe to athletes that we think can help your preparations.
Thanks for Listening,
Coach Dave

Far too many athletes are foregoing sleep to get training in, and it not only negatively impacts their training but increases the injury rate significantly. I hope you enjoy this episode of Podcast Shorts - The Value of Sleep.

In this episode I get to share an interview that another podcast (Brandon's Bikes) did with me. The topic (s) of the interview centered around training and racing with a power meter, or heart rate or both if it's cycling. We close the conversation with a discussion on "base training" or "foundation training" which fits well with our last episode. I hope you enjoy the episode can apply some of the knowledge tp your training.

In todays episode, I have a great discussion with Co-Host Chuck Sloan. We discuss the prospects of early season races happening and how we can approach them mentally, general training concepts (especially for early season) and the value of consistency in the long and short term.
Keep you training rolling and enjoy the conversation!
I hope you had a fantastic holiday season and you are all ready for the transition into 2021. In the show today I welcome our guest, Dr Julie Vieselmeyer. Julie is a high performing age group athlete and clinical psychologist with a passion for the Sport Psychology side of the equation. As is the theme lately, we talk a little bit about the year 2020, what we learned and what we can use moving forward. More importantly we talk strategies for how athletes can develop better resiliency, manage motivation more successfully, and goal setting strategies. Julie does a fantastic job combining her love of sport and psychology to help you find ways to make your training and racing more enjoyable and successful. Julie has been a fantastic friend, client, and colleague over the years and is someone I can always learn from.
