Tonight we are joined with a very special guest, Mr. Josh Sutphin, creator of Legacy of the Elder Star, and one of the founders of the Utah Games Guild. Before getting into the real meat of Josh’s game and the Utah indie scene, we touch on Mario Maker, the raw sexuality of Amiibos, Until Dawn’s many failures, and the grand success that is Alone In The Dark Illumination.
If you’re looking to avoid Until Dawn spoilers, or just want to hear Josh talk you can skip on ahead to the 26 minute mark.
You can help get Legacy of the Elder Star Greenlit here, and assist with their Kickstarter here.
And you can learn more about the Utah Games Guild here.
Hey, we’re back! This week we discuss some remnants of PAX, Square Enix’s glorious new pre-order plan for Deus Ex, a tiny bit of Mad Max, and a surely unhealthy amount of Metal Gear Solid. Fun fact, this podcast contains the word “fisting” more than any of our other podcasts (a tough challenge to overcome indeed)!
There are some minor Phantom Pain spoilers to be had here, so if you just can’t bear it we understand.
Things have taken a turn for the macabre this week at Enemy Slime. Jay does his best to explain the fucked up world of Danganronpa, Michael unleashes his inner party animal in Party Hard, Doug gets stood up for a date, and Jared joins a suspicious southern cult.
Yes, I know, we couldn’t resist talking about Sonic The Hedgehog again this week. Hopefully you love him as much as we do. Oh I guess there’s some video games or some other stupid shit in there too.
As promised here’s a fun game you can try at home. Match each Hedgehog below to his proper name:

Wasn’t that fun?
Much like how Jesus suffered for all mankind in the Garden of Gethsemane, Michael found his way into an empty theater this week to watch Pixels so that you don’t have to. We spend an inordinate amount of time this week talking about a movie that defecates not only all over the hobby we know and love but also on the very notion of humor.
Add in some discussion on the Salt Lake Gaming Con and the sad new World of Warcraft expansion and you got yourself a podcast son.
On this week’s podcast we talk about Peter Dinklage being upstaged by Nolan North in Destiny. We fondly remember our time spent at the Utah Indie Games Night before talking a bit about Dungeon Travelers 2 and Hidden: On The Trail Of The Ancients.
We’ve been writing about and playing video games together for awhile now, but how well do we really know one another’s tastes? This week we try to craft the perfect (and most nightmarish) theoretical game experiences for one another. We also spend some time talking about the Kojima/Konami fiasco, retro side-scroller Odallus, and why MOBAs are so terrible.
This week it’s all about cyberpunk. Jay talks about Ronin, Invisible Inc., Dex, and Her Story. Jared tries to convince everyone that Cradle and Carmen Sandiego (the queen of Cyberpunk) are worth discussing as well.
This week we are joined by special guest David Nunez to talk about his early access release: Gem Wars – Attack of the Jiblets. We also spend a little bit of time on the incredibly unfortunate loss of Satoru Iwata, Dead Island 2’s sticky situation, Rocket League, and sure to be masterpiece: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5.
Those interested in seeing more of Gem Wars can check out the game’s Steam page here.
Jared returns to the podcast this week and we clear up our final thoughts on E3 this year. Then it’s time for the return of the hit new game Sonic or Sitcom! Then Lucio settles things down by talking about Replay: VHS Is Not Dead.
