The mental laws apply to everyone just like gravity. The way we think influences the world around us and what we see and respond to.

 

These are the natural ways all our minds work. It isn't something we're taught in school and it can make thinking a real challenge if we don't impersonalize them. It's the way of thinking for all of us regardless.

 

Barbara Berger has deciphered 11 clear laws (there are likely many, many more that still need to be recognized) and has written about them.

 

The first is that thoughts just arise on their own. They're not to be controlled which is why meditation can be so difficult.
