When teenagers live with their parents, there are likely times they want to be out with their friends at night. Parties, prom, sports games… there’s always something to do! Parents want to teach teenagers how to be responsible, though, so they sometimes give them a curfew. Giving teenagers a set time to be home allows them to have fun with their friends but hopefully avoid spending too much time too late with troublemakers.

It’s reasonable for parents to give their children a curfew, especially if teenagers have friends who are a bad influence. Usually, if teenagers keep the curfew and communicate with their parents, mom and dad are likely to let them stay out late once and awhile.

One man shows are a distinct style of theatrical performance. A regular play usually has many characters and actors on stage. A one man show has one actor for the entire thing. Usually, the actor interacts with the audience. They use many different tools – funny jokes, songs, poems, physical actions – to tell a story.

The scripts may be written by someone else, but they are also often written by the performer. Maybe an actor has a very interesting story to tell. Maybe they want to finesse their writing skils. Maybe they are a good stand up. In the past, one man shows could make an actor famous if it went well.

College. A magical place where crazy teenagers go and, four years later, leave as responsible adults. Right?

Depending on your collegiate experience, this educational rite of passage may have helped you gain independence, or it may have taught you life lessons about what not to do. In retrospect, it’s always easy to see what went wrong. As long as you can use that experience to make better decisions in the future, it’s OK to say you screwed up.

While almost everyone makes some mistakes in college, most people also do earn a degree. They spend enough time in lecture halls and the library to learn the information needed for a job after college. It’s just a single piece of paper, but it is very important!

Of course, study life isn’t everything at university. Most people also make life-long friends on campus. Playing sports or having adventures with other people who are doing the same thing you’re doing is a great way to find friends.

Who do you like to talk to the most? Probably, this person is a friend or family member. You can probably talk to this person about almost anything. They could tell you important things, such as how to play tennis or how to take care of a hurt knee. However, you might not always want to talk about important things. Sometimes, you might just want to shoot the breeze.

To shoot the breeze is similar to making small talk. When people chat about simple things like the weather or what they did last week, they are shooting the breeze. When you haven’t heard from a friend in a long time, it can be nice to catch up on things and just have an easy conversation. It’s relaxing to shoot the breeze like this.

In 2003, Dave Chappelle was able to make a statement with his comedy TV show, The Chappelle Show. He used satire and lots of humor to entertain people. He was funny, but his show also had a lot of political commentary. He showed people how race and inequality are still problems today, but he made them laugh at the same time.

In 2005, Chappelle was rich, but he was also angry at the entertainment industry. He thought working in Hollywood was toxic. And he decided to just walk away. Chappelle’s fans missed him for many years. They didn’t understand why he disappeared. Now, more than ten years later, Chappelle is back! He had to ground himself, but now he is doing stand-up again, and his fans couldn’t be happier.

Have you ever opened your mailbox to find an invitation to a wedding, an anniversary party, or a fancy charity dinner? Most likely, it didn’t look like everyday junk mail! When people want to make an invitation stand out and look nice, they often start with the writing.

Calligraphy is the hand-written lettering you’ll see on many invitations, certificates, and awards. It takes quite of bit of time to learn the strokes for each letter, and even once you know how to do it, writing individual letters can be time-consuming. Of course, printing cards on a computer is much easier than writing things by hand, but learning the lost art of calligraphy can also give you a skill not many people have.
