We now race through about 300 years of Nephite history, beginning with the remarkable life of Enos, son of Jacob. Described as a powerful prophet, he shares his profound spiritual awakening while on a hunting trip, which leads to a fervent, day-long prayer seeking forgiveness. This moment marks the beginning of his transformation and spiritual journey.
Jarom, the son of Enos, takes up the custodianship of the sacred Nephite records. The prophets and leaders labor diligently to teach the Nephites to live the law of Moses, which purpose was to point to Christ. To the degree they were righteous and obedient, they were able to withstand the onslot of their enemies, the Lamanites.
The Lord leads Mosiah and the people to a new land called Zarehemla, where they discover another people, the Mulekites, who are decendants of King Zedekiah through his son Mulek. They also learn of Coriantumr, the last of the Jarodite people. A small group led by Zeniff returns to the land of Nephi, whereas King Benjamin reigns over all the people of Zarehemla.
Thus ends the small plates of Nephi and Mormon begins his transcription of the Large plates of Nephi, beginning with the Words of Mormon.
